Works Great, Easy Installation
I was a bit skeptical of this item at first, had a different product years ago that didn't seem to help. But the second story in our home tends to run 3-5 degrees warmer in the summer than the main floor where the thermostat is located and took the chance that this may help. Installation was quite easy, just make sure you get the right size, loved that they had a variety of size choices unlike many other competitors. I admit, it took me a few minutes to understand how to lock in the settings correctly, but got them eventually. The highest fan speed is a bit noisy, but we are a fan family and it's more just like background white noise. And we'll take the noise because the velocity with which it pulls the air is quite strong, you can feel it from several feet away! We are very happy with the unit, when the AC is running, it cools the room to the exact same temperature as the thermostat is set, even a degree lower sometimes! That being said, you have to understand how it works. You program the cooling temperature lower than the thermostat setting by a few degrees, but not colder than the temperature of the air when the AC is blowing. The fan should be off until the AC starts blowing, and once it senses colder air, the fan turns on. This means that when the AC is actively blowing, it makes a significant difference in the room temperature. However, if there are longer periods when the AC is not blowing, the room temperature will creep back up because the unit is off (as it should be since it would then be pulling in hotter air just sitting in the vents). Just a word of caution so you have realistic expectations. My only minor complaint is that it does seem to take a couple minutes to turn on after the AC starts blowing, and stays on for a couple minutes after the AC clicks off. But it's a minor issue and does not seem to detract from overall performance.

They Work!!
Our master bedroom is over our garage. Even though the garage is insulated, for the past 5 winters of living in this home, The bedroom has easily been 5° colder than the rest of the house. We have a nest thermostat and we have a second thermostat sensor in the bedroom. I would say that we got and installed both of these fans by mid-month Jan and you can see how much the energy use has gone down overall since. We did have a few very cold days this past week so take that into account but the temperature has stayed consistently within a degree or the same as the rest of the house since we started using the fan vents. We tried another brand first that had more technical bells and whistles but I find this one to be quieter and easier to set. I have the fan set 5, and it remains fairly quiet. I set the cold to off and I set the heat to kick on when it tracks below 70 in the vent. We are an all-electric home on a heat pump so I suspect if you had gas heat you would set it on a higher setting but with a heat pump, it's only using the recirculated air anyway so I set it lower than recommended. For our electric bill, the goal is to try to avoid the auxiliary heat kicking on. I am happy we have been able to do that barely successfully. It used to be that every night in the middle of the night when it was at its coldest we would use a ton of power. Just trying to maintain the temperature. It's a fairly large room about 10x 20 and we have two vents that are right near the windows and the edge of the garage, which would probably be the coldest part of the house. These are what we put the fan vents in. The other two vents are tucked away in the ensuite bathroom, and the walkin closet. Even though they keep those places warm, they don't put a lot of heat out into the room. These have been a game changer for us and I haven't done comparisons with our heating bill yet, but I expect it will help based on what our sense monitor is saying. I am just so happy to be able to shut the door up here and not freeze and not worry about using a space heater and to have this room stay the same temperature as the whole house. Definitely worth it!

Great Device
No more expensive portable room air conditioners that last less than 5 years!! These work to cool living areas: kitchen in the mornings, bedroom at night. Can't say they are 'quiet' when fan is set to high (8-10), but it's not invasive, more like airplane engine noise at cruise altitude (white noise actually puts most people to sleep, the reason so many people take a flying nap). Settings are simple to make and so far, no problem with digital panel working as expected. Important Note: these plug into electrical outlet, so carefully consider whether they can plug in near your target register vents. Elec cord is reasonably long. I've only used these for one month (summer) with central ac cooling, so can't speak to longevity, but with my bdrm door closed for an hour before bedtime, they bring temperature down abt 10 degrees (with ac running, then I turn central hvac off at bedtime, bdrm stays cool all night). Colder rooms help with getting to sleep. One more thing. These vent units measure the air temp blowing from the vent, not the room temperature. You select the vent temp -- for summer mine is set to come on when vented air is below 70; next winter over 80. Note: an issue arises when trying to set both at same time (not a flaw, issue is covered in instructions), simple to set it once per season.

It Does The Job!
The helped greatly in solving my cooling problem. A little tricky to set up, but once you get it where it works for you, you can forget about it. It is fairly quiet except when it on the highest speed (10),then it is noticeable.

I've been using the BIOWIND Quiet Register Booster Fan for just over a month now, and I have to say—this little device has made a *huge* difference in my home comfort. My room faces south and gets blasted with sunlight all day, making it one of the warmest rooms in the house, especially during summer. Despite having central AC, the airflow to this room was always weak, and the temperature was noticeably higher than the rest of the house. Enter the BIOWIND booster fan. Installation was super easy—just plug and play into my 4" x 10" floor register. The compact design fits perfectly and doesn’t stick out awkwardly. What impressed me most is how *quiet* it is. Even at higher speeds, it’s barely noticeable, which is a big plus since I use it in my bedroom. The smart thermostat feature is brilliant. It automatically kicks in when the room starts heating up and helps pull in cool air even after the HVAC shuts off. I’ve noticed a much more consistent temperature throughout the day, and the room no longer feels like a sauna by mid-afternoon. The remote control is a nice touch—super convenient to adjust the fan speed without getting up. I usually keep it around level 6 or 7, which gives me a great balance between airflow and noise. Also worth mentioning: it’s energy-efficient. I’ve seen a slight dip in my electricity bill since I started using it, probably because my AC isn’t working as hard to cool the room. Overall, this booster fan has exceeded my expectations. If you have a room that’s always hotter or colder than the rest of your house, especially one that gets a lot of sun, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s affordable, effective, and makes a noticeable difference!

I have grown to love these... if you want a little boost, you can get them down to quite quiet, if you need to pull more air it can do that too, and still quite manageable. I like how it turns on and off when the a/c or heat is on! The casing is attractive, and the display turns off when you're not using it (so no extra light in the room when trying to sleep). Good job folks. Simple, reliable and attractive.

It's ok, doesnt have as much power as we were hoping. We will see in the summer of it does what we want it to do.

I want to improve cooling on the 2nd floor. My house has one central air conditioner with ducts and one controller on the main floor. I installed 3 register fans, one in each bedroom on the 2nd floor of a 2 storey house. Cooling on the 2nd floor has improved. These register fans are quiet on speed settings 1 to 5. Build quality looks good.

Very impressed so far. Purchased a different one first and it was horrible. It was loud and faulty. By contrast this runs smoothly and quietly. Big impact to room temperatures as well. I’d buy another for sure.
