Solid stand - reach of arm should be longer (and two additional rubber pads included)
This is a solid product - very sturdy and easy to install. Two items make it 4 vs 5 stars for me: (1) the outer extension arm is roughly half the length of the inner - this should be adjusted to provide greater reach (ie same length sections); (2) should include rubber pads on the two 'lips' that support the front edge of a laptop placed on the stand, which would help keep it from slipping when in use. If these don't matter to you, consider it a 5-star product.NOTE: one install recommendation, when attaching pole to base, hold the base with one screw inserted... align a hole on bottom of pole and rotate the POLE onto the screw... I found this much simpler than trying the typical approach of getting the screw to go thread through the base and into the pole. Once aligned, easier to get the other two screws aligned to thread thru.

I would buy this product again in a heartbeat
I am very happy with this purchase. I spent a good amount of time looking for a raised tray system and this one turned out to be perfect for me. My need for this stand was not to mount a monitor so the tray mount attachment was essential. I’m not holding up a laptop, but rather a small audio mixer (Zoom L-8) but it has very similar dimensions as a laptop and came in under the max weight recommendation for the product. It works perfectly and I am extremely happy with how the stand functions. It is fairly heavy duty. All the parts are strong steel and I felt confident really torqueing hard on the bolts with the provided Allen wrenches. It was easy to set up and get dialed in.My only concern is that I didn't have enough of a lip for the clamp to grab on to as the description recommends having 2.9” and my desk only had 2.375". But instead of the clamp being totally flush against the desk, I was able to pull it back a little, enough so that the tightening arm could still rotate all the way around , and I was able to go hard on the clamp and get it very solid. The thing that could be better are the plastic clips that keep cables bundled. They are a thin plastic that have a little wiggle to them when you snap them on. A medium-strong tug and I could see them getting pulled off. A harder plastic like you would see for a backpack buckle would give you a firmer hold on to the stand. But I don't foresee the cable clips being a problem and everything else about this stand is really good.

Absolutely perfect, especially for taller folks
This stand is sturdy, easy to put together, easy to adjust, and it looks and feels great. Best of all, you get about 5" extra maximum height over similar mounts offered on Amazon. I am 6'4" and I don't have the best posture in general, so I wanted something that could raise my monitor to where my eyes are at the center of the screen, to encourage me to sit straighter at my desk. Most mounts are 17" tall, which isn't enough to accomplish this; this one is 22", giving me an extra inch or two to spare.Another bonus: the part of the mount that holds the laptop is also removable, so if I get a second monitor to mount vertically in the future, all I have to do is take the laptop tray off of the second arm and I can mount a second monitor there instead. Note that this stand would not support two monitors at the same height, however—better for a monitor and a laptop, or two monitors when one is vertical and/or offset.

Needs a strap to hold the laptop securely
It works ok for our laptop as intended but it really needs some type of strap to secure the device to the tray as it will shift around if you try to move the arm around to accommodate your productivity needs such as swinging, raising or lowering the arm. It would take one curious cat to rub against the device or an inadvertent bump in passing to end in tragedy.I will be adding some 2" velcro or some type of strap, gel tape or other to secure it without bolting it down and ruining the mobility of a laptop. The gas spring tube adjusts easily and once set allows the arm to raise and lower the arm with positive input. It will bounce the laptop up off the tray if tension is not adjusted properly.Would work very well as a monitor arm if we ever decide to change the systemSo far so good and I will update if necessary.

It did everything great, but the one thing I needed.
This unit is topnotch in this price range! Well made and if I didn't have a special need it couldn't accommodate, I'd be quite happy with it. This was bought for holding a laptop to a hospital bed table for a semi-invalid. The first section of the arm doesn't rise or lower. The second does and the head tilts, but this still places the laptop too high, resulting in a position that is too high for comfortable use of the laptop while in bed. If the first section of the arm could be brought down like the second, then it would have been perfect for this job. Not the manufacture's fault! It just wasn't the right tool for this job.

Arm may struggle with heavier laptops but quality product
Made myself a little bedside set up here, pretty lazy and convenient if I do say so myself! So only complaint is I have a slightly older laptop with dedicated graphics card and replaced battery with 12 cell for longer performance makes my laptop pretty heavy. I tightened down the gas spring just about as tight as I could without like snapping it and if I touch my laptop any harder then a light tap or swipe the arm falls down. I have to hold it up to close the lid and swing it out from over my bed into any other position but otherwise happy with this product! I doubt anything other than a fixed in place arm would do any better under the angles and weight.

Game Changer
This setup has made my WFM (work from home) setup a million times better. I was previously using the laptop keyboard. Lowering my desk, adding an external keyboard, and putting my monitor/laptop on arms made everything much more comfortable. The arms are really sturdy and well made, and I love the way you can hide the wires. The arms are so heavy and well made that I have to be careful with my crappy desk and make sure it is positioned against a wall and doesn't tip when I try to move it.
