Cuisinart CPT-180BKS Classic 4-Slice Toaster, Black/Stainless Steel

I purchased this same toaster when I retired. After 16 years of faithful service one of the elements no longer worked. I loved this toaster so much I purchased another one. Aside from some very minor style changes, the toaster is exactly the same. The only thing I don't like are that the toaster feet don't slide very easily on my countertop. I put some of those peel and stick felt circles on the toaster feet and the problem was solved.

I had been on the hunt for a toaster that would go well with out black stainless steel appliances. I wasn't finding anything that I felt would look similar. When I came across this Cuisinart I was so excited. The color is perfect and looks great with all our other appliances. Love the four slots - so handy with a family of 4. So far we find that it works well, settings are east to manage (and not too many too be overwhelming), and easy to clean. I find it finger print resistant, as well - or maybe we just don't touch the front?! The knobs are sensitive so if you hit it, it will turn, however it hasn't been an issue for us. I have found that if you have something lighter in the slot and it pops up, sometimes it pops it out of the toaster. That has only happened a few times in the months we have had it = again, not an issue for me.

I have no idea what some of the reviewers are complaining about. I guess there are some people you can never make happy, like the twits on Twitter. Anyway, this is a great toaster. I highly recommend it. After first buying two other toasters, in the same price range (but different brands), then having to return them because they were junk, I found this little gem. It toasts evenly, is easy to use, looks great, and is the quality you expect in a $60 toaster. Save your time, money, and trouble and buy this one. Ignore the negative ridiculous comments from the cyber morons.

I bought this toaster to replace a two slice cuisinart toaster. At first I was thrilled with it. I like my toast on the darker side and this toaster was terrific. It toasted bread and bagels nicely.. Now that I've had it for 2-1/2 months the toasting ability has diminished drastically. This morning I put a bagel in and put it through 2 toastings on number 6 and with the bagel setting....it is still not very dark. It's a fair toaster. Not worth the hassle of returning, but doesn't warrant a 5 star rating.

This toaster is very cheaply made and is not indicative of what Cuisinart products used to stand for. You can feel its cheapness in all aspects.1. Knobs spin wayyyyy too easily. I've tapped them not realizing multiple times, burning my bread.2. Bagel setting does nothing! It toasts on both sides.3. The listing states the slots are a wide 1.5 inches. This is true, however, the spring loaded cage inside the slots do not expand any more than 1.25 inches. This means you have to push your bagels or hamburger buns down. That in itself is no big deal, but they subsequently burn easily as the bread is too close to the heating element.4. It does not toast evenly so the bread has to be flipped half way through. The sample pictures show how one side is lightly burnt while the other side is fine when not flipped half way.5. As you can see in the first picture inside the toaster, the heating element heats unevenly. Sometimes the toast comes out fine but other times toast will be burnt in a section and not toast well in another section. It's hit or miss with this thing.6. It toasts too quickly so the bread does not toast deep enough, causing the bread to collapse under the weight of a butter knife. So, between flips, I let the toast sit for a minute or two to sit in the residual heat. Then I resume toasting. But I don't dare walk away!7. The knobs and levers and buttons and internal components are all creaky and clicky and unreliable. It screams cheap!8. The crumb catcher has to be accessed from the back! What?!!! And even worse, it doesn't even catch half the crumbs so I'm always having to clean them up.I would value it at $10 and even then, it's not worth all the annoyances of this product. I wish I had returned it because I feel scammed out of $69. I'll likely throw it in the "free" box during my next yard sale and get a different brand for half the price.

and it matches my fridge. This toaster is nice and browns evenly on both sides. I like mine dark and it does it perfectly. The variety of options, (bagel, toast, etc) is wonderful. It's easy to use. It pops up well but is a little hot when pulling the bread out (so that is for any toast). I usually don't think it's necessary to spend a lot on a toaster--but it matched my kitchen re-decor. I gotta say though, I do see a difference in the toast...I love having it browned right the first time! (PS, this toaster was on the top 10 list of every toaster review article I read. I agree)

It looks nice, but the quality is poor. The knobs are loose and don't provide an accurate measurement for toasting. The levers sometimes take multiple presses to stay down. It looks nice but is not worth it.
