Universal Shotgun Cleaning Kit (.410-12 Gauge), Black

Took me a little while to figure out how to get the cloth patches on, but the rest of the instructions were simple enough. It took 30 minutes to get the first clean completed. My Remmy 12 gage pump is now squeaky clean. Now I know what to do, I expect the next clean should be a 10 minte affair. I love the compactness and quality of the USA made components. The case seems perfectly fine to me too.

Overall this is a great cleaning kit; I have only a few minor quibbles... Pros: -All the hardware is of excellent quality in both material and manufacture. -The design/engineering of the system is great, including the "patch savers", which do in fact give you a 360 degree clean as advertised. -It's extremely compact, and hangs securely from my belt while hunting without becoming a nuisance. -It has everything you need (though it comes with only a few patches), and nothing you don't. -The only real con in my experience is that the little bottle of solvent will under no circumstances stay tightly closed, and solvent leaks out even with the cap screwed on tight. I have tried tightening the cap lightly, and also with force, and it's never air tight. I'm not sure if that's unique to my particular product, or a problem in general. -A second and less serious qualm is that being such a compact little cleaning kit, putting all the pieces back into the pack can be a little time-consuming and requires careful handling, especially in the field. Drop one of those little brass pieces outdoors and you'll be in for a bit of searching. Still, this is the best cleaning kit I've ever owned. I would most definitely buy it again if I needed to, but considering the quality, I don't think the need will ever present itself.

With the cable instead of a rod, this packs anywhere and is great to use. The Otis patches are just super. A very clever idea and easy to use once you look at the pictures and the patches.

I have never used a cable style cleaning kit for any of my weapons before this kit. It was a little awkward the first gun but after getting used to it I can not imagine going back to a rod style cleaning kit.

This doesn’t include cleaner, only oil. Patches are horrible, throw in a bore snake instead. Chamber flag just rattles around in there making it useless.

Prior to buying this shotgun cleaning kit, I have tried various methods to get my Remington 870's barrel clean. From bore snakes to the traditional rod, jags and a patch. No other methods was successful in get the shotgun truly clean and breaking the stubborn plastic wad fouling. Using my preferred solvent even though this kit does come with a sample of their "Bio CLP" with one pass my barrel was as clean as it has ever been since I bought the gun. The compact kit size also beats having multiple rods laying for cleaning. I was sceptical at first given the need for proprietary patches but now that I bought this kit I can't see myself cleaning guns any other way.

The is a multi-use product, compact and efficient.

After dropping my gun barrel down in the mud and using my friends kit to clean it out, this kit never leaves my bag. A smart system with the cable pull. Small and light, perfect to carry.
