Brilliant!
This is a lovely book for children. It is linked to the ten Keys to Happier Living and the Action for Happiness course but can be used completely independently. As an educational psychologist I have been sceptical about the idea of teaching happiness but I like this books approach; "ideas to boost how happy you feel" and " being a happiness investigator" as this awareness is so helpful for all children. It is laid out in a really accessible way and it's great that you can just dip in and choose something to do. I do think you need to be a good reader so I would say the target group of 7 - 11year olds is about right but some 7 year olds may struggle with some of the reading and need to use it with an adult. On the other hand it is a lovely book for parents/carers and children to look at together and a good rainy / snow day book for inspiring activities. I imagine doing these things together would be a great way to chat to your child about the themes without the difficult feel of an adult led conversation. Some of the activities are better than others but there are lots to choose from and most don't need any special or expensive kit. This book should be on every child's bookshelf so that they can remind themselves about how to have a happy and fulfilling life and be proactive in making it happen. I showed this to a 13 year old who had been through a hard time recently and he said "Just looking at a few pages I've already found some ingenious ways of dealing with problems such as the mindful minute - it's even got some of my ideas in it".

Excellent book!
I bought the 10 Keys To Happier Living previously after attending a seminar led by Vanessa King. This led me to the Action for Happiness website and the world of positive psychology. I've slowly introduced some of the 10 Keys to my children previously, so they were delighted to receive a copy of 50 Ways to Feel Happy .The book is visually appealing and easy to read for my 9 and 12 year old children. It has a number of ideas for happiness activities and promotes self reflection. My children particularly like the mindful activities . I think this is great idea to promote positivity and enhance resilience in younger children. The themes promote an awareness of mental health and the importance of looking after your own wellbeing. Every child should have access to this book.

A great resource
Proving to be very useful with children in school. A great resource, especially after the challenges of lockdowns. We have been using the kindness detectives.

Action For Happiness for children.
I have just co-run an Action Fro Happiness course and it has been a big success. Therefore, I wanted to bring some of the information back into my family and share the ethos. I purchased one each for my Grandsons. The pictures are bright and colourful and engages the children in a simple way, giving tasks and little life lessons in helping to make the world a happier place. A lovely gift.

What a fabulous resource for parents, grandparents and anyone else who spends time looking after children! This beautifully designed book with its many well planned activities will help people of all ages to build their resilience and understand how they can live happier lives. Fostering our creativity is so important to us all; none more so than for children.

Stunning book
So far I really love the book, however it is a present for my 10 years old nephew and I will update the review once I see his reaction. But I love the topics, animation and how it looks. So I definitely recommend it so far.

Interesting and fun to do
I am a family worker in a primary school, working with some very unhappy and low self-esteem children. I am so looking forward to using the ideas to help a child feel better about themselves.
