Kokuyo Enpitsu Mechanical Pencil, Sharp Pencil, 1.3mm, Black, Japan Import (PS-P101D-1P)

I really like the shape of this pencil. It’s not a circle. It’s more like a triangle shape. The only downfall is that it comes with no eraser, but I like how it writes and it does not break.

First off, please head the gripes from other reviewers that this mechanical pencil does NOT have an eraser. I did not notice that this pencil doesn't house an internal eraser when I ordered it. I, however, do not view it as a negative since I use other eraser pencils and such anyway.I know I ordered a 0.9 mm lead mechanical pencil but this was not what I expected, in mostly good ways. The pencil lead at 0.9 mm will write thick dark lines that I desired on paper and it is extremely comfortable to me while doing so. The actual shape of the pencil (non-circular) makes it easier for me to grip and keep my writing steady. It feels sturdy enough to withstand keeping in my front pockets of any jeans, shorts, pants, etc.My only complaint is that the Wine Red model is actually more of a pink/purple shade.. I'm a guy, and while I'm comfortable being seen using this shade because of how awesome it feels and writes, I really did want a dark red colored pencil.

The pencil is as described, with a lot of other reviewers giving great information about it.My one bit of additional information is that for this pencil, it's best to stick to leads of 6cm length. the internal barrel length of the pencil is 7.5cm and so 7.5 cm leads just about fit, but only one can be in the barrel at a time, with no possibility of adding spares in there, at least not without breakage (trimming the lead down from 7.5cm to 7.25cm would do the job).

The retractable tip is awesome. The mechanism is nice and tight (no play like some of my more expensive pieces). I occasionally miss having an eraser, but I usually have a proper one on hand anyway. Good habit to develop, I suppose.My only real complaint is the weight. I prefer a heavier pencil, but the nice grip and relatively large, triangular shape make it worth the compromise.Keep in mind that the soft lead included (2B?) does tend to smudge quite a bit with a lead this thick.

This mechanical pencil is easy to hold and draw with, and is reportedly easy to load with new lead. And inexpensive.

Don't enjoy. Don't like that there isn't a clip, even though I never use them, just find it off-putting. Really light, seems well made, and the design isn't round but rounded triangular.Compared to others though, just doesn't do it for me.

I like the feel of this pencil; it fits in the hand quite naturally and it writes impeccably for a .9 unit. I also like that you dont have to remove the eraser to refill the pencil, and the sleeve completely retracts when not in use. I need to learn more about this company; they seem to make a smart product for us mechpencilists.
