Wonderful!!!
I have been using Cathe faithfully for 2 years now. This video is very very nice. The workout is very intense, yet she has some different moves. :) She starts out doing leg work, like squats, and deadlifts, then to some lunges, then to back, then shoulders, then triceps/biceps, chest, then abs. The abs were a bit shorter but KILLER!!One thing she also does in this workout is she does some curtsy lunges using sliding disks, (or paperplates if you have a rug). I didn't have paper plates, and found that using a very thin magizine worked just fine! LOL (since magazines are very slippery)..I actually used one of my victoria secret magazines LOL ;) Worked like a charm for this part. She also does another different move by using bands while holding a dumbell for lat rows. This entire workout clocked in about 60 min (not counting warm up and cool down). But one thing I also loved was that the warm up was light weight training..where you do squats, lunges, everything--but with lighter weight, and slowly. So that was very nice. :)She has Premixes also :)Here are her premixes (note-that if you chose to do the normal basic entire workout, you will do each body part-alternating lower bod, then upper).Premixes (5)-Upper Body Only (39:14)-Lower Body Only (34:36)-Full Workout: Upper Body First (64:38)-Full Workout: Lower Body First (64:38)-Scrambled (total body) (64:58)This workout is not boring at all. One thing I did assume was because it was called "high reps", I thought for this workout you use very light weight, and do all the reps "fast"...since usually that is the case with a "high rep" workout. Although this one did use lighter weights in some segments, and yes, some reps were a bit fast. :) Maybe one day (just for fun), she can make a workout where you use no more then 5-8 lbs and do a ton of fast reps. :) lol..Overall, LOVED this workout!! I plan to also use this with Intensity, and do one day- upper body using this workout-and the step cardio portion of her Intensity Dvd. Then do Lower Body from this workout, and do her bootcamp and floor aerobics from her Intensity DVD..they both go hand in hand!!!-

great killer workout!
This is a great workout!!! I am 54 and in excellent shape. I work out 5-6 days a week and would say that I am high intermediate to low advanced in my workouts. This is my first Cathe DVD and I am sold! The workout was challenging, but fun and very well cued. I have a lot of fitness DVDs and really enjoyed that Cathe had some new moves. I have done a lot of Jillian workouts, and although they can be challenging, they just aren't fun in my opinion... she has this "I want you to die!!!" mentality. Cathe worked me out just as hard... probably harder and yet I enjoyed it and wanted to come back for more! If you are beginning or intermediate, it would not be hard to make this work for you. You just need to use lighter weights and take some breaks. She does use a lot of different equipment, but I just adapted by using what I had. I highly recommend this workout!!! I will be buying more from Cathe.

Solid workout but not my favorite
It works most muscle groups in a solid way. Most of the exercises are very classic. They work one muscle group and then comes the next muscle group. The pace is slow so you concentrate on one muscle group at a time. Actually it is very similar the way I worked for some decades in a gym, doing legs, chest, lat, bizeps, triceps, shoulders, back and abs, one group after another until the whole body is through. But now I am very spoiled with workouts which challenge many aspects of fitness simultanously, like a tough cardio workout with lots of strenght-work, flexibility, coordination and even balance all in the same time. This "all in one" is not delivered in this workout. Of course the muscle group worked can be adressed most if the exercises targets only one aspect, training the muscle adressed. But I really love the moves in other workouts by Cathe Friedrich (and some others) which target lots of different muscle groups, bring the heartrate up like intense cardio and allow a dynamic stretch the same time. An example from "Afterburn" by Cathe Friedrich is side lunges (work and stretch the legs) with a dumbell-overhead press (which I do with one arm for more challenge to my shoulder) altered with spiderman-climbers on sliders. You get the difference: The later way of training strenght + cardio + flexibility is challenged simultanously. Here you concentrate on muscle groups and have to alternate with for example a cardio workout on another day. But I know for many a workout like "High Reps" might be the favorite, especially for people who prefer to work on one aspect at a time.

I love Body Pump classes but I don't have time (or ...
I love Body Pump classes but I don't have time (or extra cash) to spend on a gym membership. I tried purchasing Les Mills Pump from Team Beachbody but they suddenly went out of production (a little disconcerting). I'm so glad I found this DVD. It is exactly what I needed, and MUCH cheaper. I've done this workout 3 days a week and it is still hard, but my arms and legs are getting super toned and I've lost an inch and a half in my waist and two inches in my hips. I recently ordered Low Impact After Burn and Low Hiits from Cathe as well. I really enjoy her methods of weight lifting and her encouraging personality. My only complaint is that she requires a bunch of equipment (barbells, dumbbells, resistance bands, glides, and a mat).

Another awesome Cathe workout
I own several Cathe workout DVD's that I rotate my workouts with. What I like about the format is you can skip chapters to focus just on upper body or lower body easily. The upper body workout will challenge the intermediate and advanced as the reps are high and variation in how the exercise is performed (singles, partials, triples, etc). I like this work out as much as her Pyramid and Ramped Up and PHA2 DVD's. Another tough but fun workout.
