Not the most secure fit.
It's a good shoe and you get used to walking in them. But if you have to do any ladder climbing or anything besides walking, I'd say have 2 pairs of boots for those different requirements. I wore these out of the box all day in a scissor lift. 4 12 hour days and were mostly fine. Your not going to be comfortable on the railing. They do fit snuggly for a slip on tho. Also if viewed as footwear that are primarily for plant work I'd say these would be great all around. But the off the concrete or anything highly mobile or up and down a ladder? I'd wear something that laced or zips up. Overall happy. I got a good deal and the things are built like tanks. Easy to wipe off and clean up. I'd buy them again.

Great ankle support and traction
Pretty impressed with these so far. I walk between 5-7 miles a day at work, and my feet felt great after putting these through their first full work day. First thing I noticed was how the "sleeve" of the boot (don't know the proper term, but the part that goes around your ankles) offered alot more ankle support than most Chelsea boots I've tried, while still being 100% comfortable. Alot of people say that these are sized too large, but I ordered my regular size 9.5 and they seem to fit just fine. That being said, a half size down probably would have worked too, but I like the extra room, and all around foot support was excellent regardless. I do not regret ordering my regular size. My main complaint about these shoes is the appearance: although they look great in the picture, they had a little bit of a "clown shoe" look while wearing them...something about the way the toe is designed I guess. Not my favorite look, but I'm wearing these as work boots, so appearance doesn't matter all that much. The comfort and quality seem excellent so far, and that is what's important to me in a work boot. One more important thing I noticed: I load trailers on a smooth milled concrete loading dock, and have had some problems with traction with previous work boots when it's wet out. After wearing these today on a wet and slushy loading dock, I have to say I found the traction to be outstanding. We'll see how these hold up in the long term, but after my first day of wearing them, I'm definitely not disappointed.

Love These
I have probably purchased half a dozen or more Merrell shoes at this point. But I've never purchased a boot from them, much less something this intense with a hard toe. I really like what I got. It's got an almost military vibe to it, while being very comfortable. Not too heavy. I added some Yaktrax snow chains as these are my designated snow boots now. Some may say that they are not insulated enough. But unless you are planning on hours of trekking through snow, I don't think that would be an issue (nor the intended purpose of these boots). For urban use in snow and ice, I think they are fantastic. And even with the chains on, I didn't have an issue driving. They do run a little large, so I ordered a half size down from my usual Merrell sizing, and even then they are generously large. But not unacceptably so.I have no complaints here, it's another great product, Merrell has yet to disappoint me.

Happy customer
I wear a size 13 and from reading reviews saying these run big, these seem to run true to my size of 13. Good material and well made like these might be just as durable.
