Will get a working edge.
Will put a working edge on knife blades, rather than a truly fine edge. OK if you just can't get the hang of holding a proper angle on a whetstone, or if you need some kind of edge right now. Best to use lots of light strokes rather than being heavy handed (which is probably the reason many people don't have much success with these kinds of sharpener), especially with the carbide slot.

They are a good sharpener for the money.
We use these after our forest school sessions. We know a stone sharpener is better but to get it done quick, safe and usable these are good.

Meh. Ok, not great.
It’s ok for putting a working edge on a kitchen knife but doesn’t get them really sharp. Ok for the money but, we’ll, meh.
