Very Well Thought Out and Immersive
My wife and I had so much fun jumping into this. I think the difficulty is only part of the game. The best part is the thoughtfulness of the game design and the ability to explore the setting.

Awesome mystery game!
This game brought a bunch of us together, expecting to complete it in an evening. Boy were we wrong! It was hard (maybe we just aren't good detectives) but in the best way! We had a blast looking through all the info provided, reading and re-reading all the clues. I would recommend this game for any sleuths who want to test their mind and have a darn good time while doing it!

Expensive, but interesting idea
Once upon a time there was a mystery game called "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" It wasn't a murder mystery, of course, but it is the gold standard against which all other mystery games must be measured. And while this particular mystery game doesn't quite hit the "Carmen Sandiego" standard (and it certainly doesn't make me feel like a "real detective", as it apparently did some NYT reviewer), it is an interesting way to pass some time with friends. And THAT said, I'm not sure it's quite worth $44. Yes, they clearly put a lot of work into these and there are some nifty things in the box. But I still get sticker shock at anything over $20 for a game, because apparently I live in the 1990s in my head. Still, if you're going to drop that kind of cash on a murder mystery in a box, this is a good enough one to do that for.

Love this game
I have never played a game like this before but now I am hooked. I am a fan of mystery novels though so I thought I’d give this a try. It’s very immersive and engaging. Hours of fun for any detective in training. It comes with everything you need to solve the case, crime scene photos (not scary at all if you are squeamish), a short book that has the narrative of the story to put it all together. Maps, notebook, evidence packets, even a pencil. I look forward to purchasing more of these types of games.

Great mystery solving game
The game is great. Feels like you are an actual investigator. The evidence, papers and clues are well made and lots of fun to pour over them and try to decipher the mystery. Fun in group. Recommend it.

GGreat mystery for the family
We played this on easter with the whole family and it was so much fun! It really was wracking our brains, and we felt so accomplished by the end of it.

For fans of detective games, escape rooms
I'll start by saying that my husband and I are escape room and detective game enthusiasts, and we have played most of the major brands out there. This game was very refreshing, and was upscale in feel regarding the game pieces and clues. The book idea for following leads was different, and the book was very well written. It was an enjoyable story as well as a game. The one thing that felt a little lacking was the "choose your own adventure" aspect. There's only a couple times when you get to do this, and either way you choose, the same thing happens. That being said, the other parts of the game made up for it and I didn't really notice it to be lacking until the end when we had finished the game. It's a little on the pricey side for a one time game, but the production value makes it worth it. When we discussed if we would purchase a game like that again for the price, we decided we would. It took us a couple nights to finish. I would recommend!

It's like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" with More Immersion
I love The Mysterious Package Company! I've purchased a couple of their "Immersive Crates" and enjoyed them immensely. Their "Murder Mysteries" line keeps up the detail and craftsmanship of their crates. This game can be played with one or more players and is great for a stormy afternoon. You are given the background and clues you need to solve this mystery. After you've made your deductions, you will break open the envelope to see if you were right or not.The only downside is that this has a low re-playability. Once you've solved it, the mystery is kind of gone. All the sealed packets have been opened, the clues read, etc. It might be given as a gift. The packets could be resealed with tape. As far as I know, any of the materials you write on can't be replaced without buying a whole new game.At this price, you can buy one of the other mysteries offered!
