Light Roast (2 LBS) Coffee Beans Don Tomas Nicaraguan Coffee

I just started drinking coffee and these were part of the first order I made from amazon. I bought a 5 pound bag of another brand and a 2 pound bag of these. Thank goodness I opened the smaller bag first. These beans were dry and light colored with a nice smell. They made really light and nutty flavored coffee that I enjoyed thoroughly. I just ran out and opened the other 5 pound bag and they were dark and oily beans that made bitter tasting coffee. I will end up just throwing or giving them away. I paid almost $40 for beans that will end up in the trash or in one of my friends homes. I guess I am learning still so my only real issue was buying such a large bag. I knew that since I was trying out coffee I should buy smaller bags but since it had great reviews I ordered the 5 pound bag thinking I would like it. Oh well live and learn. So I am presently ordering the last two bags of these in stock and also looking at the 5 pound bag of light roast from Don Tomas as well. Not sure the difference between the standard 5 pound bag of light roast and these. I just hope its not so drastic as the dark and oily mild roast beans from the other company. Anyone want to recommend some tasty beans for me to look into? Anything that is not dark and oily or taste bitter that you can recommend would be appreciated.The dark oily beans are on the left and these beans are on the right in the pictures I posted. A very good, almost workmanlike coffee that is reliable order after order. It runs somewhere on the light to medium roast side (so somewhere between 1-3 on the traditional 1-5 roasting scale) depending on what you order. I tend to prefer a light roast to start the day, then switching to a medium roast as the day goes on, so this coffee fits the bill perfectly. I've not had a bad order yet (*knock on wood*) and definitely urge you to add Don Tomas's coffee (at least the Longberry) to your stash.

I prefer a light roast and have been searching for some time for one that is actually a light roast and has great taste. Many that claim to be light roast still have a burnt taste to the beans, but not this one! These beans smell and taste delicious. The color is a soft milk chocolate and the beans smell divine. I will buy this from now on. I love this one!

I like dark roast coffee, but this batch was burnt. It had the flavor of charcoal. Tried it as cold brew, and even that tasted like charcoal.

Ordered in September of 2019 but get a bag with a expiration date of 2017?This item is non-returnable so Don Thomas has basically stolen $21 dollars from me. Going back to Peet’s

Amazing coffee. I am from Nicaragua and consider Nicaraguan coffee to be the best available. But this light roast blows everything out of the water and shipping is so fast. I love this seller and their whole mission!
