This is a great hands-free fan for keeping cool on hot days! I’ve used it around my neck and sitting on my desk. It works great, has three speeds, and the batteries last pretty long.

I thought for sure this would be a gimmick. But similar to the USB-C mini propeller fans you can insert into your phone, this works much better than expected. However, I will say it works much better when trying to cool down rapidly indoors, than working to cool you while running outdoors. It's helpful strolling around in the sun at the medium or higher settings but that may not last as long before needing to be changed. At $20, this would be reasonably priced. At $10-$12 it's a bargain. There seem to be several products that look identical, so if one doesn't seem to work very well, try on of the others. The neck fan does not require batteries, and is rechargeable by plugging it in to charge with the older USB style port. To turn the fan on, there is a button on the top right of the battery pack, just behind your right ear. Press and hold to turn the fans on, they cannot be turned on/off individually. Click the button to cycle through low-med-high-low. Press and hold the button to turn it off. To put the fan on, use two hands to separate the fans outward slightly, with the air blowing upwards (the power button will be on top) and put it up and over your head. The thicker band (power pack) should be behind the fans, then lower to your neck and move it forward so the fan sits on your shoulders with the fans in front of you. Then angle the fans inward and upward so the air blows towards your face. If you've just come from hot weather into an air conditioned or cool place, like a train, bus or building, it will be very refreshing. The two fans are a bit large, slightly smaller than a closed fist (and flatter, about an inch thick). They aren't heavy to me, but I do notice them and wouldn't say they're featherlight given the battery pack which should last for several hours on a lower setting. The "arms" are infinitely adjustable up, down and around, which is a great design as opposed to having 3-4 fixed settings. After 10 minutes I sometimes need to re-angle them towards my face a bit more, but that's on a shaking train. I have a 16" neck, so larger neck sizes up to 18" should be able to get these around to put them on. The make very little noise on the low setting, depending on the ambient noise around. The high setting for sure makes a noticeble hum, but you should still be able to talk on the phone even at that setting. But they might be a bit noisy if seated right next to others at a Broadway play or on an airplane. And the closer they are to your ears, the noisier they will seem. Going from high to low, I sometimes almost check to see they're still on. These definitely do not seem water proof, as there is a seam in the plastic, and no rubber cover for the charging port, but I'd expect them to be slight water resistant to sweat or a light mist. Overall, it's worth taking a chance on these. The big fans are sort of doofy-looking but the cool air makes it worth it and they're a definite conversion starter. I have not tried the ones that have side vents (and no propellers) to know if they provide as much much power or ventilation, though the do look more sleek. Overall, I was surprised with how much I liked these, especially in the $10 range. I've had hanging necklace style fans for decades and none were able to angle the airflow so directly. Even after I've cooled down, I like keeping them on the low setting. Worth a try!

Thought it was a dud, but turns out you just need to press and hold the power button for on and off. functions well, not sure about battery yet. highest fan speed has decent amount of air to cool you but also it can drown a conversation like a swarm of bees. first 2 fan speeds you could have in a conversation.

A chore that I particularly dislike in the summer here in NC is string trimming the lawn and sidewalk borders. The task is slow and hot for the sidewalk borders while the sun is shining and I wind up quite sweaty and uncomfortable at the conclusion (about 30 to 40 minutes). Thinking that some kind of portable fan might give me some relief I searched on Amazon and sure enough they do have such a device and lots of them! This was encouraging and with the idea of minimal expenditure to see if such a thing would help, I went with these. Very pleased, the device is light, comfortable to wear, built in rechargeable battery(s) provide plenty of run time and the fans are effective and quiet. I should qualify that noise issue since I do wear earplugs to cut out the whine of the 2-stroke gas trimmer I use. However, I can say they don't make a bothersome amount of noise since I've used them while on a ladder doing window cleaning on a hot (yes, it gets hot in the summer in the South) breezeless day and they even help the comfort level with that task. As an added "cooling" aid I started using a small mister bottle of water on and this definitely ups the ante on cooling power. Well pleased with my purchase; very inexpensive, function well, light weight, rechargeable and quiet - would definitely recommend.

Kind of a long charge but worth it. Fan is powerful 3 speed. If you are to wear it around your neck make sure hair is properly tied up so does not tangle in the fan. Overall it's a great product does the job.
