This book is fabulous for new and old Embroiderers. The colour photographs and descriptions of how to create the stitch is just wonderful.

This is a beautiful book.Full of photographed step by step stitches, it has a good variety from the basic back stitch to the more detailed raised stem stitch.This book is inspiring and no matter if you are a beginner or an advanced stitcher this book will increase your knowledge and good advice.Thread stitching and the most beautiful ribbon stitching are just a couple of the demonstrations, and while there are no set projects, there are some wonderful pictures of work that can be used as an idea. This book is fabulous if you do not already have an embroidery book, or it would make the perfect gift for someone who has a love of Embroidery.It has some good tips on fabric choice and also has a needle chart and thread description. Along with how to bind a hoop and back your finished work it is the ideal craft companion.Highly recommended

It’s the usual slick production from Inspriations but if you own the A to Z stitches books, I don’t personally think you need this book. It has the same stitches. I do own these books and will be therefore sending this book back. I was hoping that “ versatile techniques” might have something unexpected but really this is just a stitches book.

I loaned this book from my local library as I'm a total beginner. The first 3-9 pages offer advice on materials, fabrics, useful tools. The rest of the book - pages 10-156 - are dedicated to stitches - one page per stitch. The pages are clear and well illustrated and although this maybe useful when I gain in experience, I don't need 146 pages of stitches to start my journey with embroidery - hence the 3 stars.

Love this book as it has every stitch I want to use at the mere flick of a page, great photos showing "how to s' If one is looking for a wonderful reference book on embroider stitches ect. this one is a must have for your library.

I am so glad I bought this. I am not inexperienced at embroidery, having done a lot of embroidery, especially in the last 18 months, but aside from watching my grandmother embroider when I was a child, I am self-taught. This book has filled in gaping holes in my knowledge, from preparing cloth to framing and everything in between.
