Does its function beautifully, just wish it came with installation instructions.
It's a brilliant, simple design; allowing you to ring a it while steering, breaking and changing gears (I've crashed into people before when they step out while I am going quickly so I need two hands on breaks and therefore can't ring my bell, so this is really handy). Can be fitted to any bike in any place (much more versatile than any other bell I've had). The sound is loud and clear and cuts through the noise of traffic well. Only downside is the installation can take a while, and with no instructions it seems like there should be a shorter way, but you'll just have to sit there unscrewing and screwing a screw for a while in an awkward position.

Fantastic product
£10 for a piece of engineering brilliance made in the UK! Totally solves the problem of bells on top bars, fitted to my gravel bike in seconds, discreet, and works brilliantly

Good bell, mediocre attachment for drop bars
The bell itself is fine with a reasonably audible ping. When properly positioned on the lefthand hood it's accessible from both the hoods and the drops without having to let go of the brake lever, so in that respect it delivers as promised. It's worth noting though that for drop bars it has to go on the left hood. If you put it on the righthand side it will be back-to-front and the lever will be inaccessible. It's not a 5-star product though because the attachment is not the best - it's just a big ugly zip tie that wraps around the brake hood and then can be trimmed to length. When I first attached it, I positioned the bell in what appeared to be the best position and tightened the zip tie as much as I could. By the end of my first ride the bell was spinning loose around the hood. On the second attempt I was able to position the bell so that I could have the zip tie a bit tighter and so far it has held OK.

Innovative, discreet, effective and inexpensive! Buy with confidence!
I was a sceptic, I didn't think I'd really need to put a bell on my road bike, but then I realised that I was for ever calling out to walkers on shared pathways, etc and that, perhaps, I should rethink. I wanted something discreet though to not detract from the carefully carved profile of my bike so ... The search began. I stumbled across the Trigger Bell as part of that search and was interested in the idea that it was a bell that was a neat and innovative design, it was different. I then read about the possible advantages of having the option to sound the bell, whilst also change gear and braking if I needed to, all without swapping hand position I clicked "buy" with enthusiasm! The Trigger Bell arrived well packaged and small in size, and after looking at the instructions (YouTube) for fitting I secured the bell to the lever hoods. The first couple of rides I noticed that the bell was "ringing" independently, especially over broken tarmac and the like and I mentioned this in an email response from the seller when asked by Amazon Marketplace what I thought. Within a couple of days I received a replacement bell, plus a small supply of alternative screws that the seller suggested may have been the issue. I was also invited to keep the bell I'd originally bought.... I swapped out the small cross headed screw for a hex headed alternative and attached the new bell. Problem solved....! I've used this product for about a week now and to be honest I'm impressed, people seem to respond positively to move out of the way, often thanking me, for letting them know I was there! I'm beyond pleased! So, to summarize, a small but effective bell, that does what it's intended for, at a reasonable price, with an innovative design that means your hands can stay still. All this backed up with really excellent customer service from Trigger Bell, who delivered above and beyond! Buy without hesitation! I would if I needed another one, but I've got one that needs fitting to my mountain bike....! ***UPDATE - Sept '18** - So I've been riding with this bell for a few weeks now and I am more than impressed, I genuinely don't know why I didn't look for a bell sooner, the polite "Ping" from Trigger Bell is always met with a positive response from a really broad array of walkers, other cyclists, dog-owners, etc. Many of whom actually thank me for alerting them I was approaching, I've developed a bit of a system for myself, a single "Ping" when I'm a fair distance away (which usually does the trick to be honest), then two "pings" as I close up, and in the event of a non-response Three "Pings" when I can nearly touch the other person! I've found that the three "Ping" recipients are usually wearing earbuds so I could sound an air-horn and they'd be non-responsive. I continue to ride happy with this great product fixed to my bike - no signs of any slippage, unwanted noise or wear at all so far...! Bell-issimo! :) **UPDATE NOV 18*** I now have a Trigger Bell fitted to my mountain and road bikes and continue to be impressed at the effectiveness of such a small and discreet addition. I am still very pleased about how effective this is....plus no signs of fatigue, damage or corrosion despite the delights that the UK's weather and some mild off-roading had thrown at it!

Your first choice.
This should be your bell of choice; your first choice. If you’re a serious ride you’ll appreciate this design. I was dubious about this. But when I turned up and I installed it I was pleased. It’s not some big chunky thing that you have to stop and engage with. It complements your journey it doesn’t stall it. It keeps the momentum and ride going. It’s got a nice ding to it; not a scare everybody ding but I’m here. We had some problems initially. My gosh, best customer service ever. Responsive and engaging. No BS from this seller. He wants you to be happy with the end product. It’s small and doesn’t get in the way. My little Girl and one too. If she was to come off or drop her bike this wouldn’t be located anywhere that it could break. It’s got a nice finish to it. It’s small and lightweight. The trigger and where you can locate it is the best part of this. Nicely made. Good mount and construct. I also have a specialised bell which I’ve given to my child now; it is louder but it’s also bigger and requires a stronger trigger pull. I want people to move out of the way in plenty of time. Not those that go left and right and left again and panic. I want them to have plenty of time to know I’m coming and there. I have to test this out a bit more in this respect but I’m happy so far. Will let you know how I get on.

Needs a better method of fitting.
I purchased this in order to fit it on to the flat bars of my MTB. It fits via a cable tie like mechanism and although it can apparently be fitted on both the left and right hand side of the bars, if you want to use your thumb, it goes on the left. The issue with the bell on flat bars is that it will eventually rotate, which it did to me, and actually prevented me from applying the brake! I tried using tape on the bars, but it still rotated. Ideally, they need to look at the mountain mechanism of this in order to ensure that it clamps against flat bars adequately, and safely! (see above re it preventing me from being able to apply the brake!). On a positive note, it seems that the majority of people can hear it and are alerted to your presence.

I have several bikes and have installed the small (approx. 1 inch diameter) bells that you can readily find packaged as a set of 2 for under $10 or so. I love the tone of those bells. They are reasonably durable, have loud but pleasant double ding tones, and are small enough to position for use on either side of all my flat bar bikes; however, they don't fit the larger diameter drop bars on my road/gravel bike. This one does! It was super easy to install snuggly and inconspicuously on the left side hood of my bike's drop bars (I'm not sure if it will install/work on the right hood of drop bars). It has a very pleasant single ding tone that is clear and loud enough to be heard from a good distance even on a busy greenway. If you're tired of calling out "ON YOUR LEFT", you'll love this and I suspect many of the people you pass on the trail will too. You can tell the people who designed this bell actually ride drop bar bikes. While it may be a bit more expensive than my trusty, tried-n-true double-dingers, i'm pleased to say (after 1000 miles of use) I can't imagine finding another bell this close to PERFECT for a drop bar bike at such a reasonable price.

- Mounting & Positioning – Sits near the brake hoods, so I can ring it without moving my hands. Super convenient. - Ease of Use – Quick thumb flick, smooth trigger. Loud enough for most situations, but not the loudest. - Look & Build – Low-profile, doesn’t mess with the bike’s aesthetics. - Final Verdict – Well-designed bell for drop bars, made in the UK with a 5-year warranty. Easy to use and perfectly placed, but could be a bit louder. 4.8 out of 5!
