Jammed open on third use
First impressions were very favourable, the stick is a good height for me (I'm 6'4") and the camera is at a good height when using as a mono pod. First two trips I was very happy with how the stick worked helping me feel more confident on poor terrain despite ageing limbs. However, after my third walk the upper mechanism has jammed and the stick is now stuck in the extended position. It will be a nightmare to package for return and for the amount of money involved a considerable amount of hassle so I won't be bothering. However, as others have commented quality control seems to be an issue so purchase with caution.

A surprisingly good Walking stick and casual use Monopod.
A nice sprung walking stick. Remove the compass and you have a expose the screw that attaches your camera to the stick so that you can use it as a monopod. The attachment provided can be moved through 90dg and is tight so could be useful, but there is no method to tighten up. You could buy a small ball head and mount this would give a long term solution. I haven't done that yet, but I have added a quick release plate so that I can add and remove a camera quickly. I have used this in monopod mode with a Nikon Df plus Nikon 24-125mm VR lens. The combination is heavy, but in conjunction with VR operating, I have had some could results taking night shots. The stick rubber fule covering a ground spike. So you can unscrew the fule and use the monopod on soft ground or use it with the cover for hard ground. It's a good walking stick / casual use Monopod. If your need is for a heavy duty monopod this isn't for you, but if you want a cheap walking stick / occasional camera support then this is a good option.

Good combination product.
I chose this Monopod over others because of its versatility. I do a lot of hillwalking and photography and this product covered both.I ordered it on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. I haven't been out with it yet, but it looks the business. Good quality telescopic walking pool, very similar to my own walking poles which have done about 20 Munros, so I am expecting the same from this product. The camera mounting on the top looks good and is sturdy enough to support my Bridge Camera with full tele conversion lens fitted. There is no panning arm etc or quick release, but I reckon I will be able to fit a quick release if I decide. Regards panning don't really see a need on a monopod ? In conclusion I would recommend this product and also the seller for good packaging and fast response to my order.

I have now been using it for several days and I am extremely pleased with it
Read some of the negative reviews for this item but ordered it never the less. I place the order with a two day delivery but received it the following day. I have now been using it for several days and I am extremely pleased with it. Both functions of the stick (monopod and walking stick) have exceeded my expectations, and I would have no hesitation on recommending it to family and friends. Really pleased with it even the small compass which function is only to protect the camera connecting thread.

Handy stick
Handy thing , be careful that you do not extend it too far though, I broke one before by trying to force one back together. The only issue for me is that in my opinion there is not enough thread at the top for mounting the camera this is my personal opinion and not shared by many people, I fitted a ball head swivel mount on mine for mounting the camera.and whereas it is ok with DSLR I would not risk a big lens on it.However I am still happy and as a walking stick/pole it is excellent.

Outstanding Value
Camlink CMP1 Walking Stick Monopod Camera Camcorder Sinbgle Leg Stand Liked the look if this walking/trekking aid on Amazon. When I received it, it was clear that it is all I expected it to be. I suffer from pulmonary disease COPD, and need support every now and again when walking. This product, is robust, sturdy, good looking and perfectly functional. I weigh more than is good for me, and therefore would pose a challenge to a less robust product. Am I satisfied? Yes I am.

Very Good Value. Stretches up to 140cms.
Been trying this out this week and it's a good compromise from the bulkiertripods. Feels very solid for walking out and handy for my camera andcamcorder. Although the little card attached to the stick states '120cms', there are measurement markers on it up to 135cms but it will stretch to 140cms up to middle of `Stop' marks. With camera on top it is a bit higher. Maybe `M. Yates' didn't open bottom section. My compass works okay but it is of no importance to me. A notch on top lets you drop camera 90deg from horizontal to vertical view.I swithered over this and am very glad I bought it.Highly recommended.I was still using this up until Feb 2013. Coming back from holiday it was inside my soft luggage and it was banged about and broke at the handle. The bit that the camera/camcorder screws into got broken. So protect it in your suitcase with something solid.Definitely buying another.

jack of all trades
this product certainly is versatile. it works well in all that it claims to do ie walking stick and pole, camera mono pod. i give it only 4 stars as the handle that converts to the screw in for the mono pod is uncomfortable as a walking stick handle due to its plastic material and design. a small point when using for short distances but would become uncomfortable on a long hike.i paid a reasonable price of approx £7.00 but i notice its gone up in price considerably.
