Informative and educational overview of world religions
Nothing new but this is a good little book for offering an educational introductory overview to the world’s major religions. I have a good knowledge of the Hindu religion, which is the first of the twelve religions covered in this book, and can say that the account given of this is fairly good. Well written. Definitely a good starting point for anyone looking to learn the basics of the major religions in the world.

Fabulous. Well researched and presented.
An extremely well organised and easy to read exploration of many religions around the world. This is an in-depth look at many faiths, covering their origins and evolution, core beliefs, practices, scriptures, rituals, influences on society, key figures, and more. The largest religious groups as well as some that are lesser known are discussed with clarity and respect. The author states that religious intolerance often stems from ignorance and misunderstanding, and that by understanding and embracing our differences we can connect with one another. This well researched book certainly offers us a wealth of knowledge and insight.

Informative Summary of 12 World Religions
An excellent summary of twelve principal religions around the world - including many about which I had no clue. All them, in one way or another, have admirable basic tenets: fairness, equality, respect for one’s fellow man, sharing with the less fortunate and so on. It is just too bad that, given the above principles, so much strife over the centuries has been a hallmark of religious activity: Hindus vs. Muslims, Protestants vs. Catholics, Shia Muslims vs. Sunni Muslims, the Spanish Inquisition, etc. Perhaps the author might have given us some insight as to the reasons for these conflicts. On the other hand there is much to like about this book and I learned some interesting things. Among them, for example, how the Shia and Sunni Muslims differ as to who should be the chief governing influences of Islam. Also, my wife loves to watch fashion and designing shows where the experts are always talking about “Feng Shui” - a practice of dividing up and decorating a living space (in this example) in such a way as to enhance its energy (or “chi”). I had no idea that this practice is rooted in Taoism. And so when someone say that their “chi” is off or lacking I have some idea about they are talking about. So all in all this book was an enjoyable and informative read.

A spirit of curiosity and respect for diverse perspectives, emphasizing shared human value
Religions Around the World" provides a captivating exploration of 12 major faiths, revealing both familiar and lesser-known beliefs.HinduismBuddhismChristianityIslamJudaismSikhismBahá'í FaithShintoJainism (I had never heard of this religion)ConfucianismTaoismZoroastrianism (I had never heard of this religion) Now I know a little bit more: Zoroastrianism is one of the world's oldest religions, started by a wise person named Zoroaster in ancient Persia (now Iran) a long time ago. They follow the teachings written in a special book called the Avesta. For Zoroastrians, fire is super important and symbolizes purity. They use it in their special ceremonies. The book encourages a spirit of curiosity and respect for diverse perspectives, emphasising shared human values within each religion. Readers may appreciate its insightful summaries, though some express a desire for deeper insights into the roots of historical conflicts tied to these faiths. In essence, it's a valuable guide promoting understanding and unity in our diverse global community. I will definitely read this again.
