All natural and it works well
What a nice surprise! The reviews were "right on". This works so well and is all natural. I had tried other "natural" brands but this one is the winner by far! It passed a major test these past few weeks having over 100*F heat index every day. An added benefit is that the scent is subtle & delicate but so lovely. Nothing toxic in this deodorant for me.

Like it but don't LOVE it
I always buy natural deodorants that are aluminum free so I've tried more than a few. I was previously using Piper Wai, which I love, love, love, but I was missing the ease and convenience of having deo in a stick (Piper Wai is in a jar and you put it on with your fingers). So I decided to give the Schmidts a go. I like it, but I don't LOVE it. Here's the pros and cons: The pros: it has a great scent. Rose and vanilla can sometimes come off as a weird, old lady-ish kind of smell, but this one is nice and light. It's floral without being overdone and the vanilla adds a mild powdery scent that I like. My grandma used to have this rose scented powder with a huge poof that she would put on after a bath and it reminds me of that, in a good way. It also works well to control odor. I can sniff my pit at the end of the day and get no stink, only a slightly more faint whiff of that same rose and vanilla scent. It keeps BO at bay even after I've sat out in the heat and humidity or worked out. I would give it an A+ in the stink prevention category. It's convenient. It comes in the traditional stick container that I can throw in my bag without having to worry it's going to melt or leak like the jarred deodorants can. And, a little goes a long way. You can go light on the application and still get good results. The cons: a little goes a long way. All of the Schmidts info says to go light on the application but with a lot of deos, if a little is good, more is better. Not true with this one! Seriously, one, maybe two swipes and STOP. If you over apply, the deo ends up rubbing off all over your clothes. And this scent is a deep rose pink, so especially on light colored clothes, it can make a mess. I have more than one light colored tank top with pinkish pit stains. It does wash out in the laundry so that's a plus. I find myself waiting until I'm totally dressed then trying to reach up under my clothes to put it on so I don't end up with deo stains on my clothes from the dressing process. I should not have to adjust the order of my morning routine out of fear of deo stains! Light application does help but it doesn't completely alleviate the pink residue on my clothes. It's scratchy when you apply it. You know those pumice stones you use on calloused heels? Well this deodorant sort of feels like a pumice stone on my armpits. It's not bothersome enough that I want to stop using it and it hasn't caused a rash or redness, it's just mildly annoying enough that I notice it every time I put it on. The summary: it works well enough that I will probably buy it again. I like the ingredients. I like the company philosophy. I like the scents and the cons aren't annoying enough for me write this deo off. I think I'm going to go for a different scent, hopefully one that's a lighter color that will be less noticeable when it inevitably rubs off on my clothes.

Best Vegan Deodorant - Works All Day with One Application
It is quite difficult to find a vegan deodorant that works, and although this one had many positive reviews, I was hesitant to try it since so many people mentioned getting a rash. I'm not prone to bad reactions, but I recently had one with another deodorant, and that made me more skittish than usual. However, since everybody is different, I knew that there was no way to know how it would work for me unless I tried it. I'm happy to report that after five months of everyday use, I've had no rash, redness, or any other negative reaction. I bought the Rose+Vanilla fragrance and really like the scent. The deodorant is dark brown, kind of like milk chocolate. Since most deodorants are white, this was a surprise when I opened it, but the color didn't bother me. It hasn't stained my clothes or left any residue that I've noticed. You need to hold it next to your skin for a few seconds to let your body heat warm it up a bit so that it will glide on. I wasn't too keen on that part because I tried another deodorant with similar instructions, and it didn't work out so well. However, I was pleasantly surprised when even though I didn't actually feel it going on or see any residue of it on my skin, it worked all day. Since I've been using it, there have been many days in the 90s (degrees), and even 100s, and I stayed dry and odor free all day with just one application. Even on those sweltering days, it didn't need to be reapplied. One stick lasted four months. It should have lasted longer, but it was my own fault. I had inadvertently pushed the stick up too far, and when I was applying it, it broke off and fell on the floor. I'm sure I could have easily gotten another month out of it. Luckily, I had already purchased another one, so a replacement was readily available.

Magic Stick of Awesome
Alright, now that I've had this for a few weeks, it's time to review it. To give y'all some background, I have literally NEVER had a deodorant/antiperspirant work for me. I'm someone that sweats, a lot, just in the normal stuff of daily life. And it has sucked. I had kind of been wanting to try a natural deodorant, and I wasn't sure that it would work at all, but I thought I'd go ahead and give it a try. Lo and behold. While this one didn't claim to be an antiperspirant, it does claim to "absorb wetness," and it does just that, while smelling great. Since switching to this, I literally smell like roses and my underarms are DRY. Amazing. I still keep checking under my arms to see if they are damp because this is a (seriously) first time in my life occurrence. To be fair, I don't know if I've remained completely dry during heavy workouts when pretty much all of me is sweating, but I continue to get whiffs of the rose-scent, and not yucky BO. I might be a liiiitle excited by this thing. I wasn't really expecting something natural to actually work better than the regular stuff. But it does. And I am thrilled. And I am never turning back. Disclaimer/side note: I did order the Cedarwood scent first - I didn't like the scent of that one, but decided I'd try it, since I then had to wait for this one to arrive. It didn't work for me at all (I just smelled like normal sweat pretty quickly, which was quite discouraging). It was pretty weird, and part of why I waited awhile to review this one. It seems to be working fine for my husband though, but he generally sweats a lot less than I do. So maybe some of the scents work better/different for different people? I'm not sure. I'll be sticking with the rose scent though.

Great at first... but then a RASH. Twice!
A couple of years ago i tried a few other brands of natural deodorants. But after a few months.... i just felt stinky all the time and went back to my Dove and Axe . Fast forward a few years... and i decided to give natural deodorants another try. So i read through a ton of reviews for all different sorts of natural deodorants. Finally decided on Schmidt's. The were so many positive reviews! The ones about the high heat/ humidity areas or athletes really drew me in. I live in Central Texas and some days just getting in the office from the parking lot call for another shower. So I was looking forward to using this amazing product! As suggested by many online folks.... i gave my body a couple of weeks to adjust. By week 3, I felt like everything going well. Keep in mind.... i live in central texas. And this was during the late spring going into summer.... so 90°plus days are the norm. I sweated as expected but did not feel "stinky" like in the past. Looked like a win so far! About 2 months in (mid to late June) .... i felt a strange burning sensation in my pit. I thought I was a bit aggresive with the pit shave the night before and just ignored the burning that day. By the time i got home my pit was super irritated. I'm have dark olive skin so the red was very noticeable. The area even seemed a bit swollen. I gently washed and then avoided applying deodorant on that side the next few days. By the end of the week.... my other pit was red and irritated! I hadn't switched shampoo, body wash, shaving cream or laundry detergent during this time. So i was pretty certain our was my new deodorant. For over a week, i went deordorant free so the rash would clear. Worked a lot from home to spare my co-workers the delicious aroma. Did i mention it was the middle of summer in Texas? At about the 2 week mark san deodorant.... i decided to try again. Within 2-3 days the rash was back. After the second rash... i didn't try again. I initially tried "warming" the stick with my body heat and even a hairdryer to see if that made a difference in the application. And only did 1-2 swipes when applying. Guess this just wasn't the natural deodorant for me.

Stains clothes, clogs pores
I so badly wanted to LOVE this deodorant. In fact, I did the first few days of use and couldn't wait to get on here and post a review making sure the world knew I thought it was wonderful!! It was the FIRST natural deodorant I've tried that didn't need to be reapplied multiple times in a day. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised the sweet vanilla rose scent could still be smelt the following day when I woke up! It seemed to be such good quality, I thought 1 application might last 2 days in a row (of course I didn't want to experiment with that so I always reapplied the next morning. Ha!) As does, life happened so a few days turned into a few weeks and I still hadn't got around to writing that review. During that time, my opinion changed... drastically. The first thing I noticed were the sweat stains on my shirts. The only thing worse than having black shirts stained with white deodorant marks is having white shirts stained with BROWN deodorant marks. I'm not talking an old shirt that had gradually been stained in the armpits over time like all shirts do. I'm talking a BRAND NEW white shirt that had never been worn. I started paying more attention and every light colored shirt I wore stained brown / orange sweat marks; because, as you can see from my picture, the color of the deodorant is brownish. So that was the first big bummer. But like all natural things, the deodorant is more costly than something from a drug store and I can't just keep buying a new natural deodorant every time one doesn't work. And because I love the scent of this so much and love the lasting protection it gives, I decided to see my deodorant stick through to the end. A few days later I noticed a few red bumps on my armpits. I thought it was a razor burn or from my bra digging into my armpit. I stopped wearing that bra and gave it a few days to see if the bumps went away. And here we are 2 weeks later and the bumps have gotten WAY worse. They aren't itchy. I don't think I'm allergic to the product. And I've never had any issues like this... like EVER. I have zero allergies to anything that I've stumbled on so far in my lifetime and don't have sensitive skin. So I do believe it's due to this product. My hunch is that because the deodorant is so thick, that's why it lasts so long and even the second day I still smell it on me; yet, BECAUSE it is so thick, I think it's clogging my pores and causing bacteria to build up. I don't think the product is crap. I really believe it is a quality product. It just doesn't work for me. If it did, I would never use any deodorant but this as long as I lived. That's how much I wanted to love this product. All of you who it works for, you are so lucky!

Best Natural Deodarant
This is a great product. I wanted to start using better quality deodorant (with no chemicals, aluminum, evil preservatives, and nasty stuff in it). I did some research and it led me here. Pros of the product: 1) Longevity: I bought this around October 2022, and I was able to keep this till March of 2023. 2) It has a great smell and lasted almost all day for me (even when I did not reapply all day and with sweating- smells so good before even putting on). 3)I have sensitive skin and break out easily and never once broke out using this( I will never go back to any aluminum deodorants-felt like I never knew it after I started using it). 4) Also, my pits are not discolored or bumpy. My pits look more sleek and even toned than I have seen in a long time. 4) The packaging was neat, easy to read, and looks very fresh ( makes me feel fresh looking at it). 5) It has been so good to me that I started telling my family about it, and they are mostly using it now. 6) Love that they have a variety of scents (cannot wait to try out). My sister has bought so many (she is in love with them :)). Cons: 1. I do wish they would make alternative brand that did not use coconut oil ( is so hard to find deodorants that do not use coconut oil). Other than that...you should still buy it. It is a little pricy (but it is worth it, cause your pits and health are worth it). Hope that helps.
