Best looking helmet out there
Love it. I know it might not be the most protective. But it sure is the best looking one and that's also important :D

Very Minimal Protection...
The Bucky Lasek model (translucent with red straps) is a pretty cheaply made / minimal design.I’ve worn other model Pro-Tecs before that have a foam barrier in addition to padding. This helmet is a thin plastic shell with padding only. Good for flat-ground skating but I would not put my child in it or skate anything above 3-4s’ with this helmet on. It actually specifically says on the inside that it does not meet any standards for protection and has minimal impact protection. The padding arrived half off out of the box so I had to re-tape it on the inside. There are definitely better, more protective models made by Pro Tec. All that being said I needed something extremely minimal and it looks the part. Just seems like for the same price I could’ve gotten more for the money.

Low profile protection
Pretty happy about this helmet. Never was big on protection as a kid skating but now if I get hurt my bills don’t get paid. Low profile for sure. Add a pair of the low profile wrist guards from protec as well and These kids are watching me out skate them with style. I wouldn’t recommend this helmet If you are going on ramps above 5-6 feet and handrails. You honestly don’t even know it’s there once you warm up.

Not for any serious use
So I mistakingly ordered this helmet thinking it had a real liner and foam supports, like a normal helmet for skating or riding a bike but it's literally a shell with the pad glued in so it offers very minimal protection against anything other than the softest of impacts. Now I know why it's cheap, it's $6 worth of abs plastic and 50 cents of foam marked up for $50, definitely buy a different helmet that's for action sports. I could see this being okay for like a worksite or walking in caves just to protect your head from scratches but not action sports where there's a risk of death from impacts

Wanted to like this helmet but...
I really wanted to like this helmet. It fit good, was nice and light, looked nice but offers only minor protection. I wouldn't use this helmet if your doing any tricks. It really only protects from scrapes/grinds not impacts/hits.

Best Skate Helmet
Quick review here -- If you are looking for a skateboarding helmet, keep in mind there are a couple styles. Traditional helmets are made of that Styrofoam material, and they are fairly thick. Those are pretty huge on your head. The style I prefer are of a different material, similar to a football helmet. This Bucky Lasek model is just that. Far more comfortable and as an added advantage, if you hit the helmet hard and it is the Styrofoam style, they are ruined. These however are still good. I do believe these aren't quite as highly rated, and they're not recommended for cycling. I love mine - super comfortable and I think looks cool too.

great for light protection/to get into a skate park
on the army post i work/live on i'm required to wear a helmet. while this is not truly a protective helmet for say, an impact with a car or something, it is great for an experienced skater/bicyclist who just needs to throw something on their head for a skate park or other helmet enforced area. when i bought this i knew that was the goal behind the design, so i am giving it 5 stars. if you are looking for true crash protection, this is not for you though i'm afraid

guess sizing, minimal protection
Thanks to amazon and the seller for a quick refund - extra star for that.I ordered the XL but it was still too small, I don't have that big of a head but there was no sizing guide in description so it's guesswork.I read the reviews about this helmet being not certified, but I figure it couldn't be that bad and it's just for me and not my kids so I just need something ok to protect my head in case I take a backflip. But this helmet is just a plastic shell with very little foam padding, I think a bike helmet would be better protection. There is a sticker inside saying it is only minimal protection and it has no certifications. At least they are honest about it.

flimsy, does not meet safety specs - AVOID
Helmet is incredibly flimsy - meets no safety specifications and is not suitable for a myriad of activities. In the process of returning.
