Doesn't stay clipped

I tied a ton of these in my daughter's hair. Walked away for two mins, came back and the strands were around her seat. I followed the instructions, I watched the videos, I googled my life away trying to make it work. Going to try the ones that clip in but the ones that don't clip in were a bust for me!
