I wish I could give a half star..... These, as predicted, are utter garbage. They do not melt even at almost 1000 degrees. I am testing a bunch of brazing rods for some upcoming projects and so far, these are the worst I've tested. They look like they just snipped off 14" sections of aluminum welding wire. Don't buy these.....

I used a standard propane torch to braze the legs back onto a smokeless firepit that had broken from their spotwelds during shipping or at least some time before I received it. One end of three of the four legs had broken loose. While the propane heat caused burn marks on the unit, the welds were made secure and the feet now work well. The marks left by heating the body of the firepit were easily brushed out with 0000 steel wool. In retrospect, I could have prevented the heat discoloration by shielding the This product works very well for the use I intended. I recommend it for any use for which it was designed.

Compared to benzomatic rods these are trash. They require too much heat and yes they ball up and do not stick to the metal. My aluminum was bubbling before they melted. I tried them side by side and the benzomatic rod was a puddle while these were pushing around the liquid but not melting. The package says they melt at the same temp but they do not.

Used it on a small hole on my aluminum canoe. Worked like a charm. Just get it!

This product does not melt at all. The aluminum was melting, but the stick was doing nothing except when I applied direct heat to it... but then it only formed little balls and not sticking to anything.

Garbage. it doesn't stick on cleaned aluminum surface.

Hard to use and I didn't really expect anything great considering the price , good in a pinch but I would recommend spending a little more and getting higher quality
