I bought this book because I bought a lovely panel made in Japan and wanted to design a quilt around it. Being a beginner quilter with only three quilts completed and one in process that I designed I knew I lacked both the skill and design wherewithal to accomplish what I wanted. I was inspired by other reviews of this book and, frankly, the cover photo. I wasn’t misled. I rarely take the time to read all of the forewords to books carefully. I’ll never do that again. So much quilting wisdom here. I learned more in the first few pages of this book than any I’d read before. I studied the instructions for each quilt, visualizing each step and researching terms I was unfamiliar with. In the process I came to understand some foundational design concepts that will take me a long way to creating the quilt I’m hoping to make.

Love this book!! Shannon has some wonderful ideas for transforming panels into quilted works of art. Her directions were very easy to follow!! It was especially nice meeting her In person at Garden of Quilts last month.

Didn’t work on my printer but I went and bought a new printer

I’ve been a quilter for years and have designed a few myself but that never stopped me from admiring other designers works. This had a few tricks I had forgotten 🤷🏻‍♀️but I’m 75! She uses some beautiful color patterns too. It’s well worth the few bucks it cost and so enjoyable to read. I highly recommend it to beginners as well as well as the seasoned quilter!! Bless you!!
