Great replacement for 55 inch TV
Having never found a good cabinet solution for the TV, We wanted to get “the big black box” out of the living room. The largest uninterrupted wall we had was 60 inches - the smallest spec’d size this projector was capable of. I thought I’d order it on a trial basis. As a family, Here are our thoughts after a month of usage. The Amazon packaging was poor. The factory box was placed in a much larger Amazon box with no padding - allowing the factory box to slide back and forth. Fortunately no damage to unit. There is a setup routine that adjusts the image to your wall - squaring it up and removing distortion from wall unevenness. It was easy to follow and worked very well. It utilizes a phone app. That is easy to install and works wonders. Very slick. Epson recommends a special screen. However, they don’t make a 60 inch screen, so we opted to use our wall. The wall is a dark tan. I wasn’t sure what the picture quality would be. 1) The picture was sufficiently bright to view on a snowy day and no shades drawn. 2) At night the picture rivaled the TV - but much larger. 3) The common complaint of projected systems is a lack of true black. We have not had any issue with this. The pictures are color accurate and look very well. Others have complained about fan noise on this unit. It varies quite a bit. I’d say 95% of the time it’s unnoticeable. If the unit is projecting a largely white image the fan spins up. Something we can live with but something you’ll have to try for yourself. As mentioned elsewhere, the unit doesn’t support the Netflix app. You’ll need a fire stick, Roku, Apple TV, or receiver to supply that. I wasn’t expecting much for audio. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. This, like the projection system, needed a lot of tweaking. There isn’t a simple bass /treble setting, but there is a loudness and a separate bass boost. We found having both of these off was necessary. Certainly the audio beats a normal TV. It is also compatible with Spotify. Some have complained about picture quality - You definitely need to go through the setup routine. If you’re still not getting a good picture you may have a defective unit - note my comment about the poor Amazon packaging. That’s not Epson’s fault. Overall we couldn’t be happier with our projector. Here’s to hoping you have as good an experience as we’ve had. For us, this unit’s a keeper.

Good brightness
The projector is a bit large but not to heavy. It does create a bit of fan noise, but it's only noticeable when the room is quit (as long as you start playing something, you don't notice it any more). Picture is watchable even in broad daylight, without a screen. Adding a screen (I use a NothingProjector Frenzel) add intensity to the blacks and makes the colors a lot more vivid.

No Netflix - constant glitching - epic product fail
What a piece of junk - no Netflix no Chrome - no bueno. Picture and sound glitches in a loop until manual shutdown. Do not buy this!!!!!!

So far so good. Very bright projector and image. No ALR screen needed.

Chrome-Cast doesn't work well
The projector works well and is easy to set up and use. There is plenty of brightness and the picture is clear. The only negative is trying to project a video from the computer using chrome cast has not worked well with huge lag times. I ended up buying a wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver to handle the wireless to project from my computer.

Not worth the price.
Ok where to start. The biggest dislike about it i have is that it doesn't support netflix app and requires a 3rd part casting device. Second issue i noticed is that it has some blips while projecting showing distortion.

Exceeds expectations
Looks great even in the day time, night time is stunning. Very intuitive, easy to use. Great set up using apps etc. From out of box to use, roughly 15 minutes.

Pros: Very bright and vivid picture, great colors, plug and play (does not require image/color adjustment), great built-in Yamaha speaker (so much better compared to LS500), nice obstruction sensor (good if you have kids/pets), android tv is built-in, easy to navigate, super easy and excellent image alignment process (using a mobile app; just ensure the center dots on screen are on the center of your phone); looks nice. Cons: high input lag (don’t expect to use for gaming), relatively loud at the highest brightness setting (compared to LS500), does not have Netflix (you would need to buy a chromecast/firestick). I had to return because the high input lag was a deal breaker. If you won’t be gaming and will be using it for watching, and don’t mind not having native Netflix / don’t mind getting a chromecast, this might be a good choice for you. If you’re debating between LS500 and LS650, and you want to use it for gaming, I’d suggest getting LS500 if you don’t mind the crappy speaker (or better yet, get an affordable soundbar). This is what I did. Otherwise, maybe save up for LS800 or consider BenQ if you don’t mind the lower brightness.

Pros; The picture is fantastic, and bright. Compared to my Xgimi Horizon Pro, this is far more useable in a relatively bright room. The form factor works well in my setup. It's well built, and looks good next to the rest of our furniture. Doesn't require ceiling/wall mounting. The standard speakers are pretty good. The Cons; The software is laggy. It struggles to run, and drops frames incessantly whilst using Prime Video. It's much slower than the Xgimi Horizon Pro. I've resorted to running a ChromeCast with Google TV, it's much quicker. The 'Epson Settings Assistant' app doesn't work. Tried it on a Samsung Galaxy Fold 5, a Samsung Galaxy S7 table & an iPhone 14 mini, none of which allowed the minor screen imperfections to be corrected. I ended up doing it manually. The remote is cheap, with the least tactile buttons I've felt. It's like clicking a sponge. Combined with the lagginess of the projector the second you wait for something to happen is enough time to have you pressing the button twice. In summary; Fantastic screen, mediocre everything else. (My photo is just a reference to my current setup, the screen drops down from the ceiling)
