Complete Andersen's Fairy Tales (Wordsworth Library Collection)

I thought very carefully about buying a hardback version of this book for some time. On each occassion I found myself lured to the beauty of the fairytales and ended up giving into temptation. I do indeed have the original battered copy - bought second hand by my Mum, but I have since searched for a newer and original copy, one which only I have touched and read. I couldnt resist the Wordsworth recreation of Hans Christian Anderson's classics and was not disappointed at all. Infact, All the best known stories are incapsulated in one big, thick and rich text. It is NOT heavy in the slightest, although difficult to read in bed, it's one for the sofa with your feet up on a baby stool. The writing style has not changed in the slightest, take it from me, I wear glasses to read and found with this book I did not need to! It is definately value for money, considering how much it would be in a normal bookstore (9.99), I think it is a bargain when you compare it to the price of how much it would cost to help retain childhood fairytale memories - priceless. I am chuffed with this purchase as it came promptley, so I did not really have to wait at all. Overall, even past the age of childhood, one is never to young nor too old to have a this book sitting in their library book shelf.

Corner damaged. Packaging was undamaged suggesting occurred prior to packing. Unfortunate as a Christmas gift so no time to return/replace. Otherwise in good condition.

Excellent value for money ... a complete version with all the classics tales and lots you may never have heard of. Nice hard back, well bound with paper that's better quality than I expected for the price. Nice typeface and yes, the black and white illustrations are basic but that's why this isn't as expensive as more colourful volumes.

Bought this as a christmas present for my daughter. Seems ok, the only thing I would say is the paper its printed on is very thin and felt a bit cheap but what do you expect for under a fiver.

This is a magnificent edition of an old classic. As a child I had a copy of this book which, tragically, my mum gave to the school jumble sale. I was devastated at the time but all those lovely childhood memories have come flooding back. Favourite stories of mine include the `Little Match Girl' and `The Princess and the Pea' and the quality, and thickness of the book is just as I remember. I am delighted with my new edition and anyone who wants to spark their child's enthusiasm for reading should read them this book at bedtime just as my mum did for me.

Being Danish and having read all the H.C. Andersen's fairy tales as a kid and loved them, I always buy the Complete Andersen's Fairy Tales for my family and friends's kids for their christening to be read by them or for them when they get a bit older..There are some beautiful illustrations in this book but it is not a picture book ( did know this and did not want that).Very happy with this purchase + service. Very quick delivery.

This book has all of his tales and is good quality. I am very happy with it.

O livro é simples. Não tem uma capa enfeitada e nem muitas ilustrações. As páginas são brancas, a fonte tem tamanho muito bom, dá para ler sem dificuldade; e apesar de ser grosso, seu manuseio é excelente.

Wonderful addition to any library. The beautiful cloth binding makes it a work of art.
