I will only buy this going forward
The Altra Lone Peak 7 lives up to the hype and then some. Right out of the box, the fit was excellent—true to size with that signature Altra FootShape toe box that gives your toes room to splay naturally. I wore them on a rugged trail within the first week and was blown away by the comfort and grip. The MaxTrac outsole provides great traction on everything from gravel to muddy inclines, and the updated upper feels more secure without sacrificing breathability. They’re surprisingly lightweight for how much support and protection they offer. Zero drop might not be for everyone, but if you’re used to Altra or transitioning into minimalist running, these are a great choice. After several miles, there’s no noticeable wear and the cushioning still feels responsive. Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner or just looking for a solid hiking shoe with all-day comfort, the Lone Peak 7 delivers. Worth every penny.

Great minimalist sneaker
This is my second pair of Altra's, and I couldn't be happier with them. The fit is great and the style is sleek and not bulky, unlike a lot of other sneakers. The nylon performance fabric used to make the upper does not stain at all, even when exposed to mud, which is a huge plus. They are great for weightlifting as they are not overly cushioned and will keep your feet in a neutral position, unlike conventional running shoes.

Altra Men's Lone Peak 7: Conquering the Trails in Comfort and Style
I'm not going to lie, I've been through a lot of trail shoes. From clunky behemoths to minimalist nightmares, I've seen it all. But the Altra Lone Peak 7? This, my friends, is a game-changer. It's like they took everything I love about trail running and distilled it into one perfect shoe.**First things first:** comfort. These shoes are like plush pillows for your feet, even after miles of gnarled roots and rocky ascents. The zero-drop platform and wide toe box let your toes splay naturally, preventing that cramped feeling at the end of a long run. And the Altra EGO™ midsole? It's like running on a cloud of springy goodness, soaking up impact and keeping your legs feeling fresh.**But don't let the comfort fool you.** These shoes are grippy beasts. The MaxTrac™ outsole digs into loose dirt, hugs wet rocks, and laughs in the face of mud. I've scrambled up scree fields and bombed down loose gravel slopes with unwavering confidence. The 5mm lugs are the perfect depth, providing traction without feeling clunky.**And the upper?** It's a thing of beauty. The seamless, stitch-less construction is like a zweite Haut, disappearing around your foot and moving with you like a second skin. It's breathable enough for summer sun and surprisingly water-resistant for those surprise puddles. Plus, it looks sharp. I've gotten compliments on these shoes from fellow trail runners and city slickers alike.**Sure, no shoe is perfect.** Some folks might find the wide toe box a bit roomy (though I love it for toe wiggle room on long runs). And the price tag might make some wince. But for me, the Lone Peak 7 is worth every penny. It's an investment in your feet, your enjoyment of the trails, and your overall trail running experience.**So, if you're looking for a trail shoe that's comfortable, grippy, stylish, and built to last, look no further.** The Altra Lone Peak 7 is the real deal. It's not just a shoe, it's a trail running soulmate.**Five out of five stars, hands down.** Buy these shoes. Your feet will thank you.**P.S.** I almost forgot about the StoneGuard! This little rock plate is a lifesaver on technical trails, shielding your feet from those sneaky hidden stones. Just another thoughtful detail that makes the Lone Peak 7 such a winner.

Good shoe but has some downsides
It is comfortable and I got it mainly because of the wide toe box and it is not a barefoot shoe. But the insole feels cheap and along with that the tread wears away very quickly I have had this for 6 months and I will be running low on tread. Other than that it is a comfortable shoe and only gripes are those other than that it is very nice and my feet have all the space they need.

Best Trail Shoes. Period!
Hands down the BEST trail running shoes I’ve owned! Good grip, wide toe box, feels well built. Laces stay put (annoying when they come undone, like in my other pairs). Zero drop heel to toe! So far, I’ve done 2 walks and 2 runs of 2+ miles on (technical trails) and they feel great!! Wish there was just a little more cushion. It’s great when running over mud or softer trails, but can feel the rocks a tiny bit when I cross them. But overall - super! I am motivated to skip the gym or other workouts to go to the trails in these!!!! I got the tan pair - am ordering one more. Lots more running planned for this year!!😄😄

Love
I got these for my man and he loves them. They run a little big, he normally wears a 13 and the 12.5 fit him fine. Even though these are listed as trail running shoes, he wears them for everyday walking and he loves them. He likes the wide toe box that doesn’t smash your toes (like Nike can since their toes can run narrow) and even though they look sporty, they are also lowkey and look great with jeans and/or chino pants. He wears them to work and says they are super comfortable.

Very comfortable in the heel and especially toe space
I've been a devoted Brooks fan for many years for walking but I decided to check these out. I am very pleasantly surprised at the comfort of these, and the toe room is fantastic. I tried the olympus 5 and found them to run small, and in any size I felt like I was walking out of the heel. A size 10 in Olympus 5 is similar to size 9.5 in this lone peak 7. I am usually between a 9 and 9.5 depending on the brand and style, so I do think altra runs slightly small. But I figured what works and I am sticking with lone peak in this brand.

Balance comfort built to last
I have been wearing Altra Olympus for years and I LOVE this shoe instantly and whish I switched years ago. It is perfectly balanced and cushioned. The comfort is superior. I weigh 118kg and need a solid tough shoe with wider toe box. For me this is the perfect shoe.
