Harrison Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist, Indiana Jones, for this highly anticipated final installment of the iconic franchise â a big, globe-trotting, rip-roaring adventure! Review: OVER THE TOP ACTION & SCI FI - I watched this movie Christmas Day. I ordered this with the understanding it was coming after Christmas, but got it in two days--just in time for Christmas! So far I have seen this DVD on sale only on desertcart. Walmart doesn't have it--I went there personally to check. Strangly enough not even Target has it--I went there personally to check! I guess they are allowing desertcart to bring in the stash of cash all by themselves without any competition. I would have picked it up at Target if they had it because I wanted it right away. But desertcart delivered. I was screaming in delight later in the movie to the scenes that could have been designed for Star Trek the Next Generation. It is an over the top never ending thrilling movie from the start to end. You're in the 40's then the 60's, in the Middle East, Sicily, caves, underwater, planes, you name it! I was just thinking where are the large black spiders when there were cave scenes. It was only a few seconds later, there were jungle sized bugs! You get it all in this movie. You will have to love the final scenes & the ends to the Nazis. Scrumdiddlyumptious. I was literally out of my seat with total surprise & delight. I had to check online to try to see if the subway stairs & horse scene was fake, but for the moment, I was not able to find out. In any case, the horse remained unharmed as I am sure some parts of the scenes were designed not real. This is not to say that if indeed the subway stair scene was real, then the horse was indeed exploited & risked serious injury--all exploitation is a manifestation of violence. In the former movie, some forest was destroyed for the film. I cannot support that either--any type of violence whether it be against sentient beings or any inch of forest. The eel scene has to be fake so there is no more animal exploiation or harm to animals. There is lots of fake violence toward other humans. But it is all fake. My suggestion to this successful franchise is to make other ones with a new nephew of Indiana Jones--someone--a young serious, studious professor with glasses, tossled black hair on his forehead--not long hair, however. I would like to see this continue--without the use of any animals or destruction of forests. I don't see how this spectacular movie would result in a total end to the franchise--especially because we are getting better & better with AI & inventing more exciting scenes! If you don't know already how it ends, as I had no clue on any part of the film, you will be sitting at the edge of your couch screaming in delight. How on earth did they invent such an entertaining film? Keep at it please & don't stop now. Review: Perfect wrap up to a great, fun adventure franchise! - I have heard a lot of bad reviews about this film. I'm sorry but if you have been following this franchise from the beginning like me, I think you will enjoy this movie. I saw " Raiders of the Lost Ark" in the theater when I was a teen & fell in love with these movies ever since. I guess I could understand the bad reviews if you are judging this film on its own...no I digress. I still don't think it deserves such harsh reviews even as a standalone film. Come on people this is an adventure film. What more do you want? Fantasy/ Adventure films are designed as a way to escape your worries and problems for an hour or two...or three. L.O.L.! In that this movie succeeds. This was never meant to be a standalone film it was directed at the fan base of a franchise that has spanned decades! In every movie the items or artifacts are heavily documented historical artifacts. I'm sure someone out there will argue this point so for the sake of this film I will just say that " The Dial of Destiny" may not be as well-known as previous artifacts the renowned Archeologist Indiana Jones has hunted for... but I have heard of it. Actually, I feel it was a perfect item for the aging " Indy" to hunt for. Mabey The harsh reviews are because said item wasn't used as some may have preferred. I really don't know or care. I thought it was a great last instalment to the franchise. Of course, I grew up watching these movies, so they are endearing to me. But it's hard for me to imagine someone not familiar with " Indiana Jones." I mean he is as much part of Pop Culture as another Harrison Ford character " Han Solo". Ok, ok, I'm rambling... for give an old man. Personally, I enjoyed this movie as much as the others in the franchise and thought it was a great last instalment. Or is it...with A.I. are there going to be more Indiana Jones adventures? The last artifact he found delt with time after all. L.O.L.!!!

Entertaining, if less than perfect final Indy adventure
I think I benefitted from seeing this film at home for the first time, well after its theatrical release, with low to no expectations going in. I enjoyed the action and Ford's performance overall - he clearly loves playing this character - and the story wasn't as bad as the previous entry in the franchise. Mikkelsen is a great villain, although he is often poorly used in the story, in my opinion. Some of the side characters seemed extraneous and out of place, and the tone sometimes skewed a bit dark... But nitpicks aside, I did enjoy this movie overall. Not the perfect send-off for Indy (I mean, you can't top literally riding off into the sunset in Last Crusade, after all), but a decent enough entry in the series that made me laugh, gasp, and even well up a bit here and there. Not perfect, but a few hours in front of my television well-spent with some old "friends."

Continuando las aventuras de Indy, el único detalle es algunas gráficas CGI se notan pero de ahí en más otra buena historia, a pesar de las malas críticas merece una oportunidad, está versión viene doblada y subtitulada al español
