These appear to be made of quality aluminum and appear to be very sturdy. They are very nice in appearance and simple to use. Longer, sturdier screws may be a better option to screw into the studs behind the doorframe for extra protection but overall, this is a well built, attractive little lock.

These are great! I installed three of them in under 30 minutes with a Dremel drill bit and screwdriver. I thought they'd be just okay and possibly a little difficult to open once installed, but they far exceed my expectations. They open and close easily with just your index finger and thumb. They fit perfectly on our door frames (circa 1995) and not even a hint of issues opening and closing the door when unlocked.They secure our doors fantastically - no one is coming thru our doors without kicking in the entire door frame and door jams.Can't recommend these enough, one of the most useful products we've ever purchases on Amazon.Top notch - AAA+++

It can be a little tricky to install depending on your trim where you may have to chisel out a place for it to sit, as I had to. I also highly recommend installing it with a thin piece of cardboard between it and the door so that you do not install it too tightly too the door. If you do, the rubber backing will stick to the door more and make sliding this to open it, when you need to, much harder to do. I installed one of mine just a touch too close and it is a challenge to open, but I just deal with it. Outside of that it is really nice and strong and sturdy and absolutely definitely offers much greater reinforcement to my garage's back door which was the one I most felt needed to have something so it could not be easily kicked in. It is also nice that you get two and for the money it is very economical compared to other options. Being smaller it also looks nicer than some larger option, imo.
