Absolutely awesome. I'm a nurse but my a+p knowledge has always been fairly sketchy, though it's more the p that I struggle with rather than the a! This is a great textbook, with wordsearches and colouring and all kinds of really fun and engaging stuff which is helping me refresh my knowledge but better yet RETAIN it! I recommend this to student nurses as well as old timers like myself who feel they need a good refresher in anatomy and physiology.

Not quite as testing of comprehension as I had hoped
As someone tangentially involved in education in a connected field, I'm always keen to investigate ways to help learning, so I was very pleased to get the chance to see this title. It is of course one of a companion pair, as it's necessary to have a comprehensive A + P text. Peate is the author of one such, but also cites the weighty, dense, rather dry, but eminently informative Principles of Anatomy and Physiology Tortora.Whilst absolutely workbooks are a great way to help get information organised, and some of the exercises are very useful - colouring in, naming labels and the like, which helps fix learning-by-doing and, especially the slightly more complicated 'describe' questions and the 'Snapshot' questions with paper case studies, where a student really does have to think through their knowledge, but many other exercises seem a bit pointless - the unscrambling words, wordsearch and multiple choice type questions. Rote learning is absolutely necessary too, but it is a staging post, not a destinationI would have rated this higher had there been more of a focus on exploring and developing comprehension questions

Will appeal to many healthcare students.
If you are a student and you are going to have study Anatomy and Physiology, then this book would be an excellent choice. Flicking through the pages when it first arrived was a bit daunting. However, when you start to read, it doesn’t seem so daunting. The book will appeal to many healthcare students as it is designed to support many styles of learning. It is a book to keep going back to as it can be quite heavy at times. The book has many activities to test and consolidate learning which includes multiple choice questions, fill in the gap exercises, diagrams for labelling, crosswords and word search and learning hints and tips. I particularly like the clinically related snapshot at the end of each chapter which focuses on the topic of that chapter. Answers to the tests are given at the end of the book. I think this book is excellent. I give this book the highest rating.

supposed to accompany a textbook
this book requires some understanding of anatomy and physiology because its is JUST the questions and obviously follows a specific textbook. if you have any text book already, it should be sufficient, just wont be as exact with the information. lay out is clear
