Gerber Plumbing Pressure Balance Valve Diverter

I bought a condo 7 years ago, and the faucet always leaked a substantial amount of water out of the tub spout when the shower was on. I finally got sick of wasting water, and decided to fix the shower/tub controls. The valve body had no part number, and I ran across a valve that looked similar on the Danze webpage. I ordered a cartridge, and this diverter valve based on looks alone. The diverter valve was the primary problem, and this Danze diverter was actually built significantly better than the original. I'm pretty sure the valve body was a cheaper knock off of this Danze valve. The Danze parts were significantly better made than the original parts.

Subtracted a star as item that arrives is not as pictured.....(there is a molded metal piece around the plastic on the bottom or the part that is Inserted back into the valve assembly... It's too big to fit) However taking old one apart, replacing with new pieces.... part works beautifully.

I’m not sure when it was installed originally but it did fail and cost me in time, blood, sweat, and tears. No joke! What’s worse was trying to locate a replacement part online or anywhere! This was another wrong part ordered. It seems there are 4 different Diverter valves for this style of Danze Faucet New and in package. Came really quick.....

The old diverter had worn out and had begun to leak. This unit was a perfect fit and solved the problem. Good thing I had the original service manual to get the part number. Easy installation.
