The 2nd most valuable 747 in the world!
Okay so it doesn’t cost a few hundred million, but you will sure think it is worth it if you have stubborn adhesive to get up. My wife’s parents own a lake house that was damaged by stoma last December. The carpet had to be removed, the carpet was ready to be removed 20 yrs ago when they bought the home, now some 45 to 50 years old the adhesive is brutal. The learning curve has been brutal as well. I feel like I started attacking it with primitive tools, and escalated to using my 20 lb Makita demolition hammer for the carpet removal. By the way, for best results on using an impact hammer cut the carpet into long strips just wider than the blade. In my case, I used a 4” scraper, so the carpet was cut into 6” strips give or take. Making my removal more difficult the pad the pad was factory laminated to the carpet and would not come completely up. In other areas, it would come up leaving only dried glue, and in some places i actually had clean concrete. I initially tried 626, and the floor let me know quickly that I needed something similar but different. Then I ordered a bottle of the 747. The 747 worked for sure but still had a learning curve. I should point out had 747 been locally available the answer to every problem probably would have been more 747. Since I was getting via UPS, I made my initial order last. I used roughly 1 gallon per 200 sf.Some of the adhesive areas were quite thick and completely stuck. I poured out 747 generously and scrubbed it in with a heavy broom. Next I covered the areas with painter’s plastic (.5 or .7 mil did the best. 4 mil did the worst. The thinner plastic lasts flatter.) for 12 to 24 hours. Longer than that can work but make sure it doesn’t dry up. In some stubborn areas, I raised the plastic and used a pump sprayer to wet it more. When I was ready to remove the glue, I removed the plastic and used the 8” razor scraper (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KN2E564?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). Most times that was it; however, I ran into a couple of areas where the slab may have been rained on or was not finished properly. In those areas, I used a 4” hand scraper. I have a couple of different ones, but the Personna brand was hands down my favorite (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B003553F36/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_i_CEWPD1H77K7E22H2F1AD).I do know that without the 747 a jack hammer and a new slab would have probably been the easier way to go. I tried 626, but definitely prefers the 747. This carpet was so stuck that no one would price the removal without saying it costs what it costs. I was looking at $1 to $2 per square foot as opening bids. That’s why I decided to do it myself. My recommendation besides buying more 747 would be to make sure you have plenty of scraping blades.

Waste of Money!!!
I attempted to remove outdoor carpet adhesive from concrete. I used almost the whole container on a 7- foot by 3-foot area. NOTHING HAPPENED!!! Did not soften the adhesive one bit. Wasted $40 on the 747 formula plus another $11 on a scraper which was not needed! I should get my $40 back!!!

Doesn't Work
This product claims it will remove "outdoor" carpet adhesive from concrete. However, after following directions to the letter, including soaking the adhesive for a couple hours, it had absolutely no affect. The adhesive remained hard and stuck. Hey, this stuff is very expensive!!!, but it does not work.

Easy for beginners
This product is great. This is my first time using this product. After looking on you tube for a video on adhesive removal I found one with a gentleman using this product and I was sold. Definitely recommend and also a little tip the longer you leave on the easier it is to remove the adhesive.
