A great songbook!

A great book and much cheaper to buy here than at the theatre. Lots of glossy pictures which bring back memories of the show. My daughter is grade 5 and can sight read so she was playing the songs as soon as it arrived. Her piano teacher then went through the songs more slowly, making her play them really well. So not too hard if you are at a reasonable level and wantto dive in but there is scope to really work a bit and play fantastically written music. The full lyrics are also there.

Humourous, witty, coherent, musically appropriate - leaves plenty of room for characterisation. Music score is well edited with a useful introduction from Tim MInchen about his use of chords etc. I can't wait to try it out on my students. Loads of fun ahead of us!

Lovely piano book with plenty of tunes. Difficult even at grade five.

Having been to see the musical when in the UK, our whole family was quite taken with the score. We bought the CD, have loved that to death. When we saw that the score was now available, we felt we must buy it for our daughters (very involved with piano, violin and voice). The music is clear, well set out and vastly enjoyable!

My daughter is delighted to be able to sing along with her favourite Matilda songs and having the full musical score helps her to read music. It has all the songs from the show in.

Very innovative, creative music and texts. Fairly basic accompaniments. HOWEVER, this music is NOT EASY! - A very challenge for children choirs and soloists. Fun story, but encourages rebellion over authority in schools?

So much fun to follow along with the lyrics.

Perfect arrangements! The songs were easy to learn and sound great.

Good book good price

The songs have the melody of the vocal part in the piano part, which always annoys me, but other than that, all the songs seem complete, and it's great. Naughty is easy to play along with, so that's my favorite one right now, but I haven't played through all the songs yet, so we'll see.
