This kit contains all you will need to make six string lanterns in a star, heart and round shape, with tassels and adornments. You only get 3 sets of lights though, but could buy extra sets cheaply if your child wanted to give them as gifts. They could also be used as a birthday party activity.You could buy the glue, string, lights and balloons to do it yourself, but in all honesty, I think it would cost not far off the current £10 odd price of this kit anyway. The balloons are a good size, and the glue washes off easily even if you don't wear the gloves. The instructions are simple, though younger children may need more help to achieve an even wrap of string, but make sure that the gaps at the bottom are not too small for the battery pack to fall out.It does not state in the description, but the battery pack is very small, and there is a small button battery included, you just need to pull the insulating card out. Be careful not to let smaller children get hold of the pack, in case they take the battery out and swallow it, as the compartment +is not very well clipped together . (see pictures) For this reason, I am taking one star off.

This string art set comes with everything you need to make some lovely lanterns. There are foil balloons, which you can easily inflate with the straws. You will need a container to soak the thread with the glue, and then you simply wrap the cotton thread around the balloon and leave it until it dries. After deflating the balloon and removing it you thread through a piece of the cotton thread and attach the tassel to the bottom, and a loop at the top for hanging. You can then attach the light strips inside the lantern, and any accessories you want to add around the lantern, such as bunny, ears or unicorn eyes. The lamp is then finished and can be hung in your child’s room and used as a night light.The set comes with three different coloured strings, all nice colours, three tassels, three different shaped balloons, glue and accessories. This is a lovely gift for a child.

This is a fun, quite simple string art craft kit, and the final products (lanterns) are colourful and cute and look good.Everything you need is included in the kit and the instructions are nice and clear.Would make a great gift for a child who enjoys arts and crafts.

This set is really lovely, I got it to do with my 9-year-old, but she was actually fine to do it herself. The instructions are good, and it has everything you need.Great for the price, currently £8.95 at the time of reviewing. Would make a lovely stocking filler!

Ho deciso di scegliere questo set per il giorno di Natale.essendo in tanti e con tanti bambini voglio coinvolgerli con qualcosa di creativo e questa scatola contiene veramente tutto il necessario per creare 6 meravigliose lanterne... È adatto sia a grandi che a piccini. Con questo kit potrete realizzare delle meravigliose lanterne in diverse forme e colori. Il kit è realizzato in materiale ecologico e la colla non è tossica.È composto da 3 palloncini in stile, palloncini a 2 stelle, 2 palloncini a cuore e 2 palloncini rotondi 4D per creare teste di unicorno, 250 ml di colla artigianale ad alta capacità e 3 fili (azzurro,  rosa e giallo) di avvolgimento da 30 mt, 4 guanti, 3 nappe, 3 luci colorate, 3 cannucce, 2 ciglia, 2 orecchie.Basta gonfiare i palloncini con la cannuccia in dotazione e avvolgere il palloncino che avrete immerso precedentemente nella colla.  Una volta asciutta la colla, e scoppiato il palloncino, avrete la vostra lanterna che potrete avvolgere, e così illuminare, con le luci colorate a batteria.
