Not a replacement for an actual safe, but good for what it does.
I wasn't expecting much from this product and was pleasantly surprised. It's certainly true that if someone is determined to break into this safe, they will, fairly easily. But it would certainly keep children out. And the main point is not to keep out a determined thief, but to avoid detection. As another reviewer pointed out, the "book" safe is conspicuous in the wrong context. I currently have it stacked under several books, amidst several hundred other books. And in that context, it's effectively invisible. (Additionally, I actually already have an actual copy of the Qu'ran, which weirdly looks quite similar to this safe. So, its design didn't strike me as especially attention-grabbing. The manufacturers would certainly be quite limited about what book they could imitate. It is not actually a bad choice.)The sides of the safe, where the paper would be on an actual book, also look surprisingly good. These sidess have ridges and from a distance, look like paper. Again, it wouldn't hold up to close scrutiny. But we are using it to store a few items away from children. And, on the score, it seems to serve well. Not a replacement for an actual safe, but good for what it does.

Nice item, although the combination was hard to set, reset it with online instructions
I love books and I wanted this safe because I thought it would easily blend in with the many books I have. And while the book is made of plastic (on the outside), I think amidst a bookshelf, it is pretty much disguised. And the colors on the book are vivid- I really enjoy this case. When you open the book, there is a metal box that fills the inside, the same width as the book but, of course, a little smaller because it must fit inside. And this "safe box book" blends in well, despite being larger than the norm-- because it is a bible (in my opinion). It is the size of a textbook in height and width- the size of the largest medical textbook you could fit and may even be larger than that. However, the directions to set the combination were two steps and vague. So, when the lock box on the inside of the book stayed set at the combination that it came with- I don't know if I did something wrong (probably) or if the box was set that way previously- Whatever the case, my box wouldn't be set to any other combination. And there didn't seem to be anything I could do about it- as the directions were not only vague but very short and contained no detail about who made the box, who to contact about issues, etc.And then, I asked my husband to look at the box. He went online and found the way to re-set the lock- all you do is open the box and there is a small lever on the right side that you push over and down (it is on the other side of the combination mechanism). Then, with the pin still over and down, you set your combination and when you are finished- you put the pin back in its original spot.Regardless of the combination, I wasn't getting this box to store crown jewels or anything. While I liked the box even with the original combination it comes with- 000 and was fine if I had to keep it that way (and really was ready to only deduct one star as I like this ālock box bookā despite the easy combination), my husband saved the day and reset the combination. The problem was solved and if others have the issue when they get the box, just follow the simple steps he found online and deployed. I wish I could tell you how to set the box the first time, but I could never figure that way out and still donāt understand what went wrong or what the directions say to do. Next time, I will have him work with things like this first and maybe these issues wonāt happen. When it comes to things like this, he is the better of our pair to do them. But then those are the best partnerships, arenāt they?Thank you for reading my review and I hope I have helped in your decision- if only in some small way. Please look at my photos as I tried to detail this order as much as I could for others. Sorry for the last photo of the reset pin, which is a little blurry (we have terrible phone cameras). But I think you will know what it is from the photo- though I hope the setting of the combination will be a little easier for others- even though, you have the easy solution (once you find it) if you need it now and know you can combat the one issue you might have!

Not What I expected.
This safe isn't anything special. To go unnoticed, it should be placed on a bookshelf with plenty of books since it stands out a lot, which is the opposite of what you want. Additionally, setting the combination was difficult, and to make matters worse, since it attracts so much attention, a thief can easily take notice of it. If they can't open the combination, all they have to do is take it and break it later. The material feels sturdy, but in the end, it doesn't serve to protect valuable items.

Good, but needs one little difference
Overall, this would be hard to detect, in a bookshelf, full of books, but if you look closely, the false binding does not have the slight dimple that a real book has. But for most use, this should be fine, especially if the books around it are the same size. The box inside is of a slightly thicker metal than most cash boxes Iāve seen, but not to the level of a true safe. In terms of the security lock it can be easily reset, but it is nice that the switch to put it in. The learning does require a little manipulation so it is hard to accidentally change it. The lid has an edge to. , but it is nice that the switch to put it in. The learning does require a little manipulation, so it is hard to accidentally change it. The lid has an edge to it to help open, which only cuts out a little space but makes it easier to open. Overall for hiding little items that do not need a fireproof enclosure. This works very well.
