it's worth doing yourself
having had my eee900 for five years already i had decided to improve the provided 1gb ram. initially i took it to a local mobile/computer/internet shop (there's hundreds of them in my hometown) but they delayed, tried charging me more, lied about there being something wrong with my computer, then put in second hand ram with errors on it!! i went practically insane, and after several more days they let me change back to a 1gb ram that worked (i did a two hour error scan on it in the shop) then refused to give me a refund saying i had wasted their time and cost them money. hmmmmmmmm, so i wasn't in a hurry to lose any more money. a year later i checked on 'eeeuser' for other people's reccomendation for my specific netbook model. added this 2gb ram to a big amazon order. arrived swiftly just in time for me to go away for a weekend. i fitted it in place while on the coach. my laptop ram has a little metal lever that leans to the side to release it. it worked flawlessly first time, and considerably reduced 'freezing' and slowdown using larger programs. i can now do more complex graphic editing, queue flash video without stalling, or transfer bigger files without alot of virtual memory operations holding everything up. i've had it nearly a year now, my eee900 is nearly seven years old, and i still feel i can rely on it. always check the following things when buying ram- clock speeds (mhz) that match your computer's 'bus' speed- power draw, in case your ram will be gasping for power when running on battery- the 'bios' and 'operating system' maximum ram size, they're hard limits in every system, sometimes as low as 2gb- the right connector! the pins and the random letters each have to match. there's no cross compatibility- and whether your hardware supports 'ecc' (error checking) before paying extra for memory that does too

Great product, great service, but be careful it is the right memory
I used this for upgrading the memory in a mac mini. Makes a huge difference to performance, bringing the old computer right up to date again. In my opinion, adding RAM (up to 2G for a 32bit OS or up to 8G for a 64bit OS) is more likely to increase performance than anything else you can do to a computer (apart from getting rid of Windows and using Ubuntu Linux instead). Just two caveats:1. Make sure it is the right memory. My recommendation is to go to the crucial website and download their scanner application. Find out what you need, then come back to MyMemory at Amazon, because the service is much better. I screwed up on this at first, and MyMemory replaced it at no cost.2. Check how easy it is to replace memory before you buy itIt is really easy to replace memory in most desktops and laptops. However, older mac minis such as mine are a *real pain*. You have to prize apart the case and remove the hard drive first, and it is a really fiddly job. If it is not completely obvious, you should be able to find instructions on the net, but evaluate how hard it is going to be before buying the RAM.

Crucialo 2GB, 200-pinn SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 Memory Module.
Cheap enough to give it a go. Bought this for my net book but didn't notice any real improvement if that's the purpose of upgrading is about?

RAM upgrade for Acer Aspire 1 notebook
Decided to upgrade from 1Gb to 2 GB Ram on the Acer Aspire 1 notebook (11" screen) with the 'easy to get at' RAM socket. The 1 GB module has to be replaced with the 2GB module. Unfortunately, this particular 2gb module has 'chips' on both sides of the card and is therefore a bit 'fatter' than the single-sided 1gb module. This makes it difficult to get the lid of the socket cover to sit snugly, as the clearance was only just adequate for the 1gb module.Am now trying to sourcea 2gb module with a thinner profile

Laptop upgrade
Bought this to upgrade the memory in my niece's laptop, which appeared to be struggling more than a little. Already had an electronic clean using c-cleaner, defrag etc and still very sluggish.Purchased and a timely delivery saw me installing the new RAM within a couple of days of making the decision to upgrade. Installation went easily and with the existing 1GB of RAM it made 3, just right for a 32bit laptop.Once installed and the laptop switched on the new RAM was recognised immediately and without issue.A quick check of the Windows Experience Index score showed some good scores, all well above the score of 3 recommended by the software. I wish now I had taken the 1GB readings for comparison but I didn't.An extremely cheap way to boost an oldish (all comparative in the computing world) laptop performance. As a 14 year old this should let the laptop see her through to her A levels, without the need to buy a new laptop. (She is not a gamer)

If you need to spice up a 2007 MacBook Pro ...
... then I really recommend getting 4GB of this memory.I spent ages looking for a 4GB memory upgrade to a late 2007 MacBook Pro (2.2GHz Core 2 Duo) which I wanted to update, looking at reviews, suppliers and didn't find what I wanted until i found this product. I updated to Mountain Lion and as expected, Activity Monitor showed that with iTunes, Safari, iPass Open Mobile and Coconut Battery active, I had less than a quarter of the original 2GB free and things were so slowwww ...I've now put the 4GB of this memory in to my MBP and everything is wonderful again. Activity Monitor is reporting over 2.5GB of free memory, things are opening and closing as well as when the MBP was running Snow Leopard, possibly faster but these things are all subjective. I'm very new to the whole MBP experience and getting thoroughly hooked. If you have an original 2GB in a late 2007 MBP and are considering a memory upgrade to extend it's life, I would recommend you seriously consider getting 4GB of this memory. The memory arrived a little earlier than expected, well packaged and with the memory inside the Crucial clear plastic box. It was easy to fit (though it took me a while to find my tiny screwdriver to remove the screws from under the battery). My MBP booted first time and recognised the memory upgrade. In fact, the only thing that is causing me any issue is I am having to get used to Mountain Lion.I couldn't be happier with the memory, the supplier or the price. Give it a go! You know you want to ...

Perfect for EEE 1000H
Bought for Asus EEE 1000H laptop (I have a 900 series and it also uses exact same sticks). There are other off brand memory types, even with frequencies above 667MHz. They would work, but I just prefer memory I've worked with for years and know to be reliable. Zero issues. 30 seconds to install, and off you go, running Windows a lot faster. Possible to put Windows 10, and 2GB is an absolute must, if you hope to achieve any speed whatsoever. I wouldn't go pass Win7 32-bit.
