We found these rings to be problematic and hold food underneath them, so we had them removed. Please disregard that part in the manual. , ☛ We extended the length of the drums to provide more room for your knuckles when grating. This is a problem many people dealt with in other stainless steal models. There is more play room with the longer drums, however please still take precaution as you grate.
