The fan works as described and is quiet.
I found this fan to be exactly as described. In the box there was the fan, the speed-adjustable power switch, two protection grids (one for each side} four bolts and four nuts. It worked out of the box. It is very quiet at all speeds. The bolts are long enough so that, if you wish, you can use them to attach the unit to another device. I purchased this because one of the two internal fans, on one of my desktop computers, stopped work. The system was giving excess heat warnings. I placed this fan on the top (grid surface) of my computer. The heating problem was solved.This report is after two days of use. If the fan stops working properly, at some time in the future, I will update this review.I recommend this fan. It gave me back the use of an expensive computer.

Computer Fan w speed control
LOVE THIS LITTLE FAN w the speed control. I use it as an exhaust fan. I hung it up with a wire so I can reverse it just by turning it around on the hook it is suspended from so it can pull out cooking odors or pull in cool air. Very quiet, depending on the speed you adjust it to, even on high it isn't bad, meaning I can hear it running when it's on high, otherwise I hear nothing, repeat, very quiet. Reliable. Well made. All wired up and ready to go, just hang it up, plug it in, and turn on, adjust speed. Love tools that work! Highly recommend.

Decent Industrial Fans - See Review

Hard plastic, roller bearings, metal fan guards. Package includes screws for mounting in thinner metals with about 1/4" to spare.INTENDED PURPOSE: A Make-shift heater box. A rheostat would be used to control the 900W heat strips output. The fans would be used to blow air across the heater strips and into a separate area.RECOMMENDATION: The fans are working for this purpose. They are mounted to the bottom side of a 10x10x6 metal NEMA 1 Junction Box. The holes were cut with a Jig Saw using a metal cutting blade. The heater strips are located within. The 2 fans are mounted tight in the bottom of the J-Box. They take up the space with about a 1/4" of room to spare.As long as these fans work long term, I will be happy with this product. They have a nice air output (probably similar to the small clip fans you might use in your vehicle or a hair dryer on low setting). There are 2 to a package in this order. They are easy to install. 4 screws each. They run on 120V with a variable controller. The fans are made in China. We'll have to see how long they last. They plug into any 120V source. The fans 'plug' into the variable speed controller box which converts 120V to 12V (similar to a laptop power source). The controller is a floating box. In other words, there is no way to hard mount this to a surface using the box. You would have to figure something out if you want to mount this in a permanent way. It is not weatherproof and not recommended for outdoor locations unless you find a way to protect it. As for noise, they are industrial fans. They are not exactly quiet. They are not too loud. But you can definitely hear them. If I were guessing (since I don't have a db meter), I would say that they are louder than a refrigerator. If you have a wood stove with a fan on the back running on high, that might also be a similar noise level. For the application I have intended, it is working as expected for now. If this product lasts long term, I would be willing to buy another one if needed. I will update in the future.

It works as advertised
Reasonably quiet. Adjustable speed works. A good buy! I cut a vent in the back wall of my refrigerator space (in a hallway next to an outlet) and mounted the fan in the vent to blow on the refrigerator compressor. The LG refrigerator fits tight in the opening and at 4 yrs old the original compressor failed. The tech that replaced it suggested the heat contributed to the failure. So, I added fresh air to hopefully extend the life of an out of warranty compressor.

Works very well, some well thought-out features to it.
Sometimes DC fans don't have a great response to simple voltage controls, but I think the power adapter and control within it have some circuitry to it (perhaps a pulse circuit) for very good speed control. The fan connects to the power supply via a standard accessory jack, and there's a long cord to the power adapter, and there's a short 110V cable from the power adapter to the wall jack. The accompanying hardware is great and screws are long enough for case mounts all the way to half-inch wood box mounting. I couldn't tell if it was ball bearing or sleeve bearing construction but so far it's very quiet.
