Rigamonti Table Grater with Steel Crank and Roller

Rigamonti Table Grater: I've had one of these for ages, and have just bought another two as presents (they're slightly different in detail from my old one). It's really good for hard (grating) cheese. I keep it in the fridge with cheese in, rather than emptying and cleaning it after every use. I don't use it for softer cheese, such as cheddar; when I tried I didn't use it up quickly enough and it went mouldy. I both grate a fair amount at a time for some purpose, and put the grater on the table for people to use. With the shutter at the bottom closed the grated cheese collects inside; with the shutter open it falls out as it's grated, both useful ways. Disassembly and cleaning is easy enough.

I’ve been using it since I was young.. 30years ago.. and it’s still efficient, and easy to use.. sometimes simple things are much better than the super technical ones..

Does the job, just. However requires a lot of wrist strength gripping the sides so that the cheese is in contact with the grater.
