Great roof rack, lightweight and easy to assemble. Came with all parts necessary to install. The instructions weren't bad if you have common. Sense you can put this together easily it took me about 2 hours from taking everything out the package to final install. The cross bars can hold weight as it was on the floor I lost balance and stepped on one and it didn't bend at all, so great job with that. Driving down the road I didn't notice and extra wind noise or MPG drop of course there isn't anything on it right now. Overall, a great product at a great price! Also the Jeep looks great!

easy but took a bit longer to put together than I wanted ( no patience ) it looks nice, is sturdy and is functioning as intended. I don't notice added noise.

The description for the rack said it was aluminum. ONLY portions of the crossbars are extruded aluminum. This rack is primarily steel. This is the ONLY reason I’m giving this product 4 stars. Otherwise I’d give it 5! This rack is exactly what I needed to make packing for trips to the beach a whole lot easier! I was able to easily fit a set of traction boards, two canopy tents, five beach chairs, two folding tables, a camp kitchen table, and a tool box full of camp stove cooking accessories on this rack! Using this rack to bear the brunt of my beach nonsense meant I didn’t have to use a goofy hitch basket AND I was able to have A LOT more room in the back of my Jeep for my pooch. By utilizing this racks carrying capabilities I was able to eliminate the need for a hitch basket. This meant I could easily get my dog in and out of the back of my Jeep. Carrying all my gear in this roof rack also freed up my hitch receiver so I could use it with my recovery point! This was something I was really happy about. I don’t like having a capable off-road beach rig that I can’t use to help other people. Because of this roof rack freeing up my hitch receiver I was able to help a stranded beach goer get his SUV off the beach! I had never been able to do this before because I’ve always used a hitch basket to carry all by gear. This rack was fairly simple to assemble. The instructions are very easy to follow. The only recommendation I would make, that is contrary to the instruction, is to mount the rear window hinge brackets on the Jeep BEFORE installing the roof rack on the Jeep. I would also HIGHLY recommend NOT opening the back glass AT ALL while installing the rear window hinge roof rack brackets. Do ONE HINGE BRACKET AT A TIME. This will ensure you don’t have any window alignment issues. With the back roof rack brackets installed on rear window hinges, and EVERYTHING ELSE loosely installed on the rack, it is easier to set the rack on the rain gutters. With the rain gutter brackets sitting in the Jeep rain gutters the rear of the rack simply sets on top of the rear roof rack window brackets. Then all that’s left to do is align the mounting holes, square everything up, and tighten it up. Keep in mind that installing this rack will require either the help of another person or the use of a hardtop removal pulley system to ease the installation. A very tall, very strong individual MIGHT be able to mount this solo but I wouldn’t want to risk scratching up my hardtop. I love the look, the functionality, and how incredibly sturdy this roof rack is! This roof rack gives my Jeep a more utilitarian, off-road kind of look. I really love it! My wife has even commented on how the rack has made my Jeep look more aggressive. I think any Jeep owner can appreciate that! The only negative about this rack is that it contributes to a bit of added wind noise. It’s not much. It’s about the difference in cabin noise from running a closed sunrider type top as opposed to freedom panels. I’m extremely pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend this roof rack to anyone looking to increase their cargo carrying capacity.

HOOKE ROAD roof rack was made very well and pack very well also !! The powder coat was very good !! Putting it together wasn’t bad ! But instructions needs better pictures ! You will need help with the install ! Would buy again !! Price was the best on line !! The fit was also good !!

This seems to be a very good roof rack for a Wrangler. It was easy to assemble and install. The finish was very good with the exception of some shipping damage chips that I have to touch up. The only problem I found was at the end of assembly, you are left with a few screws that mount it to the roof. They were different lengths but they worked, will try to get the right ones soon.

Solid. A bit finicky to install, but leave everything loos for final tightening and your fine. Installed on a 2017 jeep jku hardtop. Should be the same back to 2012 at least.

Great roof rack but, functionality works great but I don't like how far off of the roof it sits. I don't believe it fits the best but for the price it's a great rack.

Very functional, very sturdy materials, nice finish and easy to assemble [despite getting directions for the JL in the JK package]. Only knock is a design oversight [possibly]. The rear bracing is C-shaped and the open side is forward-facing and creates a massive amount of drag. Not that a Jeep will ever be accused of getting good mpg, I instantly could feel the impact at highway speeds and saw it on the dash indicator. I usually average 18.1mpg and dropped to 16.9 the first day with this on. I was trying to think of a way to fill the gap to see if it would have any effect. I had a pool noodle lying around and wedged it in the bracing [only takes up ½ of the width with what I had at the moment]. After 42 miles of driving with said noodle, my average is up to 17.4 mpg. I'm going to try to figure out a better solution with either expanding foam or backer rod to make it function fully & look more presentable. All in all is a great rack [giggity]!
