Better Than the Original Meat Black Pudding!
I really like this product which I use when cooking the recipe for vegetarian black pudding in The Hairy Dieters Go Veggie book. Dave Myers (the co-creator - the one with glasses) comes from Lancashire and said he himself really enjoyed this meal. Ok, he has a vested interest. I was curious what others from Lancashire would think, so I asked a hardcore meat-eating Lancastrian what he thought. I had cooked this meal when he visited. How does it compare with the meat version?. I asked. "Its got a lot more flavour", He told me. "In fact better than the original!" Well, I thought, that's proof positive. He loves his meat. This is now a regular meal for me. Incidentally, this product is always delivered quickly and is very well packed. I hope others will give this black pudding a try - you may be surprised. Check out the Hairy Dieters recipe. It is easy to cook.

Absolutley love them, great product with good healthy ingredients. Very versatile as we have them in many different ways,i.e. with a veggie breakfast, with spaghetti,an omelette or just on a butty. So lucky we found them, they are now part of our staples and also Vegan friendly!! They come well packaged ready to put into your fridge, also they can be frozen if needed but usually have a good time to use before expiry date. Well done The Real Lancashire Black Pudding Company...you rock ;)

Black pudding without the bloodshed.
Being an (almost) lifelong veggie. I had vague memories of delicious black pudding from when I was a lad. I was blissfully unaware then of what real black pudding was made from, otherwise I would probably have been considerably less enthusiastic. However, the lure of a veggie version was more than I could resist, so I inadvertently ordered rather more than I intended after an extra glass or two of Scotch. It is hard to remember what things tasted like umpteen years ago (when Noah was a lad), but the veggie black pudding seems to vaguely resemble my memory of "the real thing" (without the bloodshed :-)It has a nice taste, but has a "je ne sais quoi" element, and is rather less juicy that I remember. I resolved this by serving it with lots of gravy, which certainly did the trick..... delicious.

Looks right, fries really well and tastes great. Certainly worth a try.
It looks like the real thing and cooks the same.Nice, crispy outside (when fried) and soft interior. It tastes very nice indeed, and will certainly replace the real thing for me from now on.Obviously it doesn’t taste the same, as the vital ingredient, pigs’ blood, is missing, but it gets close enough for me.The barley flavour comes through really well. The pepper is there too, along with the expected herbs.I have black pudding as part of a Sunday breakfast and this fits the bill perfectly.

OK ...ish
After cooking it certainly looks like 'real' black pudding, but tastes of nothing much at all. A worthy attempt for vegans but I don't think I'll be getting any more.

I'm glad I decided to try this!
I'm glad I decided to order this. As a vegetarian, it's great to experience new tastes. I think this product is delicious. Really well flavoured and well made! I keep coming up with new ideas for ways to cook it! I'm looking forward to adding it to risotto on Friday... Yum!

A great veggie substitute
We've always been black pudding enthusiasts but with my wife going veggie a couple of years ago, this was one of her greatest misses. We've tried a few substitutes and both agree that VPud is the best, certainly a rival for most supermarket black puds

Love this stuff
Absolutely love this stuff. Eat raw or put it on the george foreman grill. Fantastically versatile can use it in so many ways.I imagine if you like meat this might not do it for you but I never liked the taste of black pudding when I was given it when I was a child. This is also incredibly healthy and low fat so a great snack
