Great item! Simple to install, easy to use!
We have used this gate daily for two and a half years, and it works great for what we needed. Our son's little dog respected the radio fence except at the driveway, so we put this up to stop him. It is also great for keeping out delivery trucks when kids or dogs are loose in the yard. It is very easy to use, and took less than five minutes to do the initial setup, which consists of putting two included pieces of PVC pipe into the ground on opposite sides of the driveway, and then simply sliding the post with the net into one pipe (shown as orange in the photo), then pulling the net out and putting the post {shown in black) into the pipe on the other side of the driveway. To roll it back up you simply lift the black end out of the pipe and slowly walk it back across the driveway as it retracts..

Does not retract
The fence doesn’t retract all the way because it becomes tangled when trying to retract it. It doesn’t flow correctly into the holder.

great driveway gate
This is a great safety gate. We live on a 55mph road with a nice big driveway, and now I feel a lot safer letting my son ride his bike in the driveway. The retracting feature is brilliant. The gate closes up very neatly when not in use. The poles fit into two PVC pipes that are placed in the ground, which makes the gate easily set up and taken down. It sags a little in the middle, because our driveway is fairly wide, but it gets the job done. Perfect for anyone with kids.

I Love It--Keeps my LIttle One In
I had definite reservations about ordering this product after reaading the mixed reviews. But I have a 15 month old and a yard that is entirely fenced except for the driveway, so I needed a product that would block her from running down the driveway and into the neighbors' yards or the street. There was nothing else on the market like this that rated even close to as well, so I took a chance on the 25 foot orange driveway guard. And...I really like it! It does exactly what it advertises: It creates a barrier that keeps my baby from wandering down the driveway. It's easily visible both to my kids and to cars pulling into the driveway. My toddler is young enough that she hasn't tried to crawl under it or push against it until it stretched down to the ground (which it could, if a determined child were trying). The ground pegs are flush with the ground, so running the lawn mower over them isn't a problem either. So for me, it is the perfect solution.I also haven't had any problems with retracting it or with it sagging too much. I have learned a few tricks that help with this: 1) If you slide the netting all the way down to the bottom of the pole when you retract, and 2) you hold the pole slightly diagonal rather than straight up and down, it retracts perfectly--no jumbling up and no getting too much netting at the top of the retracted area. Then after you pull the netting back out and put the pole in the ground peg, slide the netting back up to the top of the pole and it will be much more taut. It does sag a little, but not much. Certainly not enough for my child to feel tempted to reach up and pull that part down. You can also install the ground pegs angled slightly away from each other rather than exactly vertical, and this will help keep the net taut too.I will say that installing this device was a royal pain. That's why I give it 4 stars. The plastic PVC pipes they give you to go in the ground are very blunt and VERY hard to get into the ground. I hammered and pounded as hard as I could with a mallet and just couldn't get them more than a few inches in, even in soft, moist soil. I also feared they might bend after the guard's metal rods were pushing against them for a while. So I finally went to the hardware store and got lead pipes the exact length and diameter. These went into the ground WAY easier and are much more sturdy. I don't anticipate any problems with them staying sturdy all summer.Overall, I think this is a great product. A retractable fence out of something more sturdy and less able to be pulled down would be great. But since there isn't anything on the market like that right now that I could find, this is a great alternative. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone who wanted a light, easily retractible barrier (other than recommending they get the lead pipes instead of the included PVC ones).

Disgruntled Dad.
First, the product. My wife and I were looking for a way to stop our children, their toys, and our two small household dogs from escaping the front driveway. On all three fronts this product failed. My three year old daughter was easily able to clear the fence, and as other raters have stated, with a stiff breeze the top of the mesh fencing begins to collapse. So my daughter just used her body weight to sort of fall over the fence. I would never leave a child unattended believing that this fence would stop them, or even really slow them.Second, the children's toys. A soccer ball kicked about as hard as a five year old can kick easily went underneath the mesh net. Similarly. With the net extended the top of the fence would merely slow down any ball or thrown/hit/kicked toy. So strike two. Finally the dogs. Not sure what I was expecting. By my 25lbs dogs ran right through the fence. I don't know if they didn't see it or if they were trying to jump it, but asides from the gut bursting laughter I got after realizing that both dogs weren't injured. It was an absolute failure as well. Strike 3.Functionally, the net bunched at the top the first time I tried to recoil it back onto itself. I pulled it out and massaged it back in several times but it just seemed to catch and ride up. This was not only extremely frustrating but made the retractable aspect of the net useless.Finally. To finish my wonderful experience with the net. I attempted to return it. I am a Prime member and purchased it, via Prime, through a third party seller, stores123. The order clearly stated, Prime from stores123 fulfilled by Amazon. It also clearly stated Free Returns. So upon requesting to return the item I received an email advising me that there is a 15% restocking fee, not the end of the world, but that I will have to pay for return shipping. I have played phone and email tag with Amazon and stores123, and the same condescending email keeps getting sent out that stores123's return policy clearly states the customer has to pay for return shipping. Problem is, it did not clearly state that on the product description.Bottom line, for me, bad product sold by an unethical seller. I would stay clear of not only this product but any product sold by stores123 unless you are ok with being ripped off.

Not as strong or straight as expected
I bought this to section off an area of the garden for a puppy. It is certainly not as strong as portrayed in the advert. It sags a lot and I had to purchase hooks to help make it sturdier to attach in the ground along the fence. It certainly does not open straight as in picture - very saggy
