I’ve bought these every year in December for myself and my best friend. I love the smell and it makes me feel festive.

Long burn time. Great scents.

These are really great candles. Unlike some candles that smell nice but then dissipates after you light them, these continue to give off a great fresh scent as they burn. The scent last through the whole candle as well. Only downside is they burn a little quicker then I would like. But well worth buying.

I love the smell of this pretty little candle. It's a clean, cool, outdoorsy, floral, damp-pine-woodsy scent. Sharp, fresh, and fragrant. The tin keeps the odor fresh, and when I burn the candle at my desk, I enjoy the fragrance while I work. The candle is quite small, and I waited to buy it until it went on sale. At $6 it was a good value. At $19, not so much.

This comment is solely about the candle I received. When I opened it, I noticed it looked dirty: there was excess wax around the rim of the cup and a ring of wax residue on the cup's wall, making me suspect it had been used before. However, the wick looked fine, and when I shook the candle, I could feel a slight misalignment of the candle body in the jar. I was excited to open this candle for the holiday, but seeing it in this condition left me feeling very disappointed. I'm not sure if this is a quality control issue or a problem during transportation. I don't feel like going through the hassle of exchanging it for a new one because these aren't major issues, and I really like the scent. However, I want to remind everyone who expects to receive clean, perfect candles that you might also get products that are a bit disappointing.

Illume candles have the most vibrant and unique scents. The glass jar is beautiful, too. I bought one at Land's End and was so pleased to find them on Amazon, plus at a sale price. Much better than Yankee even!

Please note that this particular review only applies to this one particular candle, not these candles generally--I have bought many of the Illume "Balsam and Cedar" candles in various sizes and containers, including this one (called a "vanity tin"), many times and absolutely LOVE them in general. The scent is my favorite one for the cooler months of the year so please don't avoid this brand or scent in general. However, this experience was so bad that I had to leave this review with a photo-Amazon billed this as "Used, Very Good" condition but someone should have just thrown it away. It would be a stretch to list this as "Acceptable" condition, but at least that would have warned me it might be a little rough. I often buy the used items and especially if they are described as Like New or Very Good they are generally just fine for my needs, maybe a torn or open box for example. But this one had a completely detached/broken off bottom metal section (see photo, no idea how they even managed that), and there was so much wax on the outside of the container I had to pry it open. Then I was almost sorry I did, because all the wax outside was matched by wax all over the place inside (it must have been upended while the wax was melted/liquid), burnt areas on the top and inside metal areas, blackened and gouged wax and of course, a blackened wick. If it was just a blackened wick and had just been lit before but was otherwise fine I would not have minded--though such should not be listed as Very Good--but this was absolutely not any reasonable person's idea of OK to sell as Very Good. I think it is important to warn people about what might get delivered if they try buying the used items... Amazon should be ashamed to be sending out this sort of junk to people.
