Excellent Primer on Supply Chain Fundamentals and Management Best Practices
Daniel Stanton has knocked the ball out of the park with his book Supply Chain Management: For Dummies.First, who is Daniel Stanton? He is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) with three master's degrees, including a Master's in Engineering in Supply Chain and Logistics from MIT. His bio indicates that he has been educator on many levels, including as an instructor for the Jack Welch Management Institute and as an author and instructor for LinkedIn Learning. These qualifications make Stanton an ideal person to write on the subject of Supply Chain Management. In this 332 page book, you'll find the thud factor of comprehensive assessment and analysis on how supply chains work and how they are best managed. Plus, you'll also find the easy-to-understand content often found in dummies books. And let's face it, the supply chain is not a simple thing for most people to understand, although it is easy for them to overlook. In his debut book, Stanton examines a number of critical aspects of the supply chain, including:Optimizing Your Supply Chain, Planning Your Supply Chain, and Purchasing. But he also goes deeper, into the more avant garde topics that currently dominate supply chains, like Building Supply Chain Analytics, Managing Supply Chain Risks, and Managing Digital Supply Chains. This is a must read for new professionals in the field of supply chain and an eye opener for experienced professionals in the space.

A+ SCM Book (must have reference!!!)
This book is a great addition to the supply chain management genre—the author ties together all SCM functions in a readable manner—demystifying complex concepts.I found the content well-thought-out as it introduces the reader to basic “SCM 101” business practices while not neglecting to cover more advanced subjects such as optimization and analytics planning. All in all, I have found this book geared towards facilitating learning and as a reliable, up-to-date reference. A great refresher for those working in the field or for others who are just getting started in supply chain management.

The book is an excellent introduction to all the diverse elements of supply chain ...
The book is an excellent introduction to all the diverse elements of supply chain and its all encompassing management. Daniel hasn't missed a topic. Would like it to become a more indepth solutions manual down some of the more divergent paths.

Great book for SCM students and professionals
I highly recommend this book. I am taking the MITx Supply Chain MicroMasters program and this book is a great supplement to the online courses. Daniel Stanton does a great job breaking down complex topics into (relatively) simple terms. After the initial read of this book, it also serves as a solid reference material. Five stars!

really good basic information
I bought this book before I got a degree in supply chain to see if I would like learning about supply chain. I read the whole thing then started going to classes on the stuff in it. this book is pretty equal to a degree in supply chain in terms of knowledge given and quite a bit cheaper.

Precise and to the point!
I purchased this and Operations Management for Dummies to read alongside the learning system material for the APICS CPIM. These books contain great examples and uses much more precise language to discuss terms.
