Excellent For Soil Coverage for Succulents and Other Plants
This gravel worked out great for my succulents. The bag contained a mix of colors including creamy white, tan, brown, grey, black, and a few random colors. The black stones are gorgeous, I'm thinking of using them for a special project. All stones are smooth, no sharp edges. I did not detect any sort of oily residue on them as some folks have reported, but to be safe, I washed them inside a bowl with a little dish soap and hot water, then rinsed them several times. Originally I was looking for smaller gravel (1/4" or less), but was unable to find a small-sized bag (most were 10 lbs). This bag was just right, 5 lbs for less than $8.00. (Price when I purchased was $7.57, but it has increased since.) The stones are not all round, they're all different shapes. Size-wise, they're mostly around 1/2", although some are as small as 1/4" and some are as large as 7/8". I did not find any over 1 inch. If you really need smaller stones for a specific project, search for the gravel by 1/4" size. Otherwise, with this bag, you can always sort through to find the smaller stones... it's a calming task. I was repotting some baby succulents from 1" plastic pots into 3" ceramic pots and was able to find enough smaller stones to cover the soil. I used the larger stones for cactus in larger pots. Photos show the first few plants I repotted. The gravel works well to keep moisture in plants, yet allows air to circulate. They help keep soil in place and make the plants look neater. They also help to keep any small flies from taking up residence. I'm happy with my purchase.

Beautiful rocks (covered in wax, not petroleum?)
I bought these rocks for my 10 gallon fish tank and wanted to give a quick review on them. This gravel is just as expected, they are very nice, smooth. Not too many broken rocks either (only noticed maybe one or two in the whole bag.) I ended up buying 3 bags for my 10gal tank, and it covered it perfectly. I wanted to comment on some of the other reviewers claiming the rocks are unsafe and covered in "petroleum." My best guess is, this is not petroleum, but wax. Why do I think this? Because when I rinsed them in cold water, they seemed relatively clean. That is, until I decided to use hot water. Tons of flakes started to rise to the surface. I then used a cup to skim the surface of the water. Most of it stuck to the sides of the cup (because it was colder than the water.) Seems like wax to me! Anyway, as with ANYTHING you put in your fish tank.. thoroughly wash it (using hot water!) I did send an email to the companies website asking for a definitive answer to what is on it. I will update this review once I get it. Bottom line, it's been two weeks in my tank, and my fish are fine. and my tank looks great. I'd totally buy them again.

Very pretty and polished well. They are small
I bought many bags of these to put inside 4 outdoor planter pots to hold 4 foot artificial topiaries in place. I wanted something more decorative than just a large bag of pebbles you would find at the home store even though it was much more expensive this way and I would not be able to see the pebbles except at the top. But I liked the idea of using polished pebbles for the artificial toparies as they were a bit costly. The pebbles are very small and very pretty. I will have them forever, of course, so did not mind the total cost. I can always recycle them to another use sometime in the future if I need to such as in the garden. I looked around for various prices, weights and overall look on Amazon only and decided on these. (I did not shop for these anywhere else on the internet.) I bought a lot of the 1 pack of 5 lbs for cost reasons with free shipping for Prime members. Select Polished Gravel at the end of the drop down box for the $7.57 per pack rate and then select the quantity before adding to your shopping cart. You can also adjust the quantity in your shopping cart before checking out. Otherwise, if you chose the 2 pack from the drop down box, for example, the price stated is $86.65! I don't understand this. You can adjust the quantity at the $7.57 rate in your shopping cart.

Nice quality; poor value
These are nice-looking, high-luster rocks, but only covered half the space I wanted. As other reviewers have noted you don't get much for your money, and even with that low expectation I was surprised how little area they covered. See the picture in my review for a size comparison of the bag to a dollar bill. Four stars because they are attractive but the poor value and the chemical complaints many reviewers have mentioned here are sending me elsewhere for the remainder of my project.

Beautiful Pebbles!
I was highly impressed with this 5 pound bag of pebbles. The 3/8 inch size applied to most even though there were some smaller ones~which was ok for me. The assortment in the bag was wonderful. Nice & polished. Very smooth to the touch. Provided a warm feeling to my succulent plants I had purchased & was potting. My pictures reflect the nice variety in the bag. The bag was durable so extra pebbles could be stored nicely. Great quality for what I paid. Highly recommend!

Great soil cover for plants
I purchased these rocks as a soil cover to keep my cat from digging in my plants. They look great and are an effective feline deterrent, although my cat does sometimes remove a rock or two to kick around the house. This is more a testament to my cat’s persistence than a downfall of the rocks. They are wonderful! I would recommend to rinse before using because they can be dusty.

Natural beauty
I purchased these as filler rocks for our 70 gallon tank, because my husband and I are going for more of a natural look with the tank we thought these would mix well with our natural, large river rocks. While the bag was decent sized (honestly I should have bought three bags total to cover the bare spots in between the river rocks) it was a little smaller than expected especially with the rocks being somewhat small. The assortment is great though, a mix of different natural colors, textures and sizes. They really add a nice pop of shine and balance to the neutral rocks already in the tank. The only negative I see is that they are rather light weight so our fish is often seen and heard moving them around the tank. I will be purchasing more for my other tanks.
