Bought this because it was cheap and I fancied a little hobby. The product came in a box with the padlock, 2 keys, and a 9 piece set. The box also has instructions to go to a specific YouTube video for a tutorial. I never went to the YouTube video, but was able to figure it out and unlock of fairly quickly with some tinkering. The picks themselves are thin metal with a flat plastic handle, which feel sturdy enough to do the job without bending or breaking. It's been a lot of fun practicing and getting quicker, and I would definitely recommend it if you want to get into lock picking

I think pretty much every thirty-something chap has sat watching the hero cop picking his way into or out of trouble and thought, damn I would love to be able to do that. Then back in reality when you've broke the key to the garden shed thought, yep definitely would love to be able to do that. I pretty much fell into both of these categories and when this came up on a lightning deal day I took the plunge. Now remember this is a set for beginners so the quality is not going to be professional. The various picks are functional but will bend easily if too much force is applied, due to the plastic handles of the picks. Clear storage pouch is provided and you have picks that will help you with a number of lock situations. As others have mentioned there is pretty much zero instructions but after 30 minutes watching a few YouTube videos and messing with the practise lock I was able to open the lock within under a minute (with duck tape over the see through body). The garden shed lock in around 90 seconds, it was almost an 'I have made fire' moment out of the film Castaway.Four stars given as even though it helped me achieve my goal and add a slightly new skill to my skill set, I don't believe they will last more than a few locks before breaking.In the package is;Package includes:1x Padlock with two keys9x Numbered Lock Picks with plastic handles (helps for finding the right pick depending on your locks)2x Tension Wrench Tools (the larger tension arm being best)

Lock picking is a skill and interest i've had since I was wee boy and this brings back memories, It's hard but fun to start with but once you've learnt it then you will be tempted to try real locks, good picking to all.

This had potential, it's nice and clear, the lock operates quite smoothly, and it doesn't require much torque to hold the pins in place. Unfortunately only the 4th pin needs to be picked on mine, the others are already set in the default position, so pretty much any random rake attempt and it pops open. I haven't really acquired much skill from this, I'm hooked though, so I'm going to try to find a harder one.

So this is one of those things that I have always had a background want to learn. Whenever I watch TV or films where I see someone picking a lock I have always had a little 'that would be so cool to be able to do' moment.So when I saw this kit come up on Amazon Prime day I thought hell yea why not give it a go.The item arrived quickly and came in a plain cardboard box.The first thing I was disappointed with was that the instructions were on the outside of the box, except they aren't really instructions at all, more like a brief introduction.It does however give a url that takes you to a video where someone is demonstrating how to use the pick set. Except that link didn't work, luckily the one found on the Amazon product page does work.Inside the box is all the kit you need, I was quite excited to open it up and have a go. The padlock itself looks cool and if nothing else will make a really nice paperweight on my desk.So I watched the video, selected the right tools and had a go, within around 10 seconds I had picked the lock, I was amazed at how easy it was. I could then do it again and again with no issue. I will now try it with my eyes closed to get a better 'feel' for how you would do this in the real world where you cannot see the pins inside.Then came to the really disappointing part, I went home and was going to have a go at picking the padlock on my gate. Got out the tools and was immediately disappointed to find they they didn't fit. I also had a look at the locks on my garage, house, bike, office filing cabinet etc and those tools did not fit. So while this is not really any surprise, I mean why give you so many different tools if all locks were the same right, except there is nothing to tell you how to use each of the individual tools supplied. Or, for example, some sort of guide to show you how to recognise a lock type and then which tool would work with it.So all in all this box did what it was meant to 'sort of'' I did indeed learn how to pick this one exact type of lock and I learned within seconds, but that is it, nothing else on top. I really feel that there should be a full set of videos or a where to go from here type guide to help you on to your next step...It will however be a cool party trick the next time I have people around and to stop the paper blowing off my desk...

Very well made piece of kit, cant really say much else about it really, does everythingn you would expect and is very good quality for the price.

You do not develop any skills with this product; anything opens the lock.

Baught as a present for nephew and of all the things he got on christmas day he played with this the longest. Made me the cool uncle :-) would recomend buying a standard non visible lock to give also as once he'd cracked it he needed another challenge. Also all the adults wanted it off him all day to have a go
