Clamp Lamp Reflector Dome Silver For Reptile Vivarium

I bought this to use with a mercury vapour heat lamp for our ten-year-old Horsfield tortoise. Like some other reviewers found it is not possible to clamp it on the side of the habitat and direct the lamp straight down which is essential when using these expensive and delicate light bulbs. It can only be at an angle when clamped to the side with the clamp that comes with it. I added a piece of wood with an angle and then attached this to the side of the tortoise table so that it could then be used to position the light and heat straight down. This is better for bulb life and doesn’t dazzle your pets’ eyes. Very pleased with the results. Bought this replace a standard 100W heat lamp and a separate UVA lamp. As soon as I replaced the existing two lamp set up with the new light fitting and combined it with a AIICIOO heat and UVA/B Bulb I could see that the tortoise liked it. Very pleased with the heat and light reflection.

Was delivered promptly, well packaged, and in good condition. Only downside for me is the positioning clamp with its wing-nut tightening bolt. Change the angle a few times and it repeatedly comes loose and starts drooping downwards. So it's out with the pliers again for another re-tighten. Wish they would change the adjustment method as otherwise its a great product.

Ordered this item specifically because it came with the grill guard unfortunately when it arrived it was minus the grill so have had return as not fit for purpose

I bought this to use with a mercury vapour heat lamp for my African turtle. It is impossible to clamp it on the side of the habitat and direct the lamp straight down. It can only be at an angle when clamped to the side so we added a piece of wood from one side to the other on the land area and put it through the clamp. I could then angle it straight down, which is how it should be so that the bright light doesn't dazzle the turtle's eyes (think, low sun when driving). We made sure it was the correct distance from the basking area and checked the temperature a Lt the height the turtle's shell would be when basking. Very pleased.

I use this in conjunction with a ceramic bulb to heat up a box we have stationed outside for a barn cat (long story, but she's semi feral and lives outside) for the winter months. We just clamped it to the edge of her sleeping box, and it heats a good 30cm, or so in a directed beam. It's also nice and light, and the cage means nobody has touched it and got burned.She also loves it, whenever we go into the "hut" to check on her she is cocooned in her heated bed!

Arrived with metal guard missing, so had to return. Have got another one of these which works well, so would of got a higher review if it didn’t have parts missing .
