... day earlier than I was suppose to which was nice, not to mention the packaging was completely intact ...
Got it a day earlier than I was suppose to which was nice, not to mention the packaging was completely intact so that is another plus. Color was different compared to the picture since they are more of a white color with a tint compared to the picture but I suppose that's what happens when you order it from online but no harm no foul. Texture was different from what I thought I would be still was a fun new experience to try. Flavors were interesting to. I'm happy with my purchase and would do it again when I get the opportunity!

Yummy Mochi
My daughters class was having a Flat Stanley celebration and parents were invited to bring in foods from the different countries that the class had sent their Flat Stanley. We had sent Flat Stanley to relatives in Japan and we needed some Japanese snacks for the school party. On my trips to Japan I enjoyed Mochi rice cakes, so I thought that these would be great for the kids to try. They are not like other U.S. types of snacks, so they would be a different taste for the American palate. The kids enjoyed them and I thought this brand of rice cakes were great with a good flavor. Try them.

Great treat to try
Great treat, but very sweet! Both colors had sweet red bean on the inside and the outside had no other flavor I could pick up on. I personally liked this item. The paste on the inside is not smooth but it pairs well with the mochi. It really is a treat that you would have to try to know if you like or not, but if you like sweet and chewy treats this is a definite go.

I bought it to see what it tasted like out of curiosity
It has an acquired taste, to be honest. And if you're sensitive to food consistencies, this may not be your cup of tea. I used to hate the taste because I never had it before, but I'm used to it now and I'm trying not to eat it in one sitting lol. Try putting it in the freezer! Tastes great. Mine wasn't expired as I heard some people's were but thank god it wasn't haha. Make sure you try to learn more about mochi before you decide to purchase it because then that'd be a waste of money and food. You might be able to purchase mochi at a japanese marketplace if there's one close to you.yes, i recommend this product to people who enjoy mochi.

Not Fresh
I spend a period of time living, working and studying in Japan and now get Japanese food cravings. I have always loved mochi and was looking for a place to soothe my cravings. But, I could barely choke these mochi down. The rice cake part of the mochi is supposes to be soft and tender. The ones in my package were extremely chewy and hard on the outside(especially the red/pink mochi). The sweet bean on the inside was fine but the outside texture took away all my enjoyment. I threw my package away after trying to eat two mochi (all the rest felt lumpy and hard too!). What a waste of good money! It would be interesting though to know the packaging date and how long a package stays fresh. The consistancy of mine seemed like it was past the "fresh" date. That's sad because I have picked up packaged mochi in Asian markets in the U.S. that has been relatively fresh. It can be done.

way to sweet, made me a bit nauseous
As a person who's never had Mochi before... these weren't very good. They were...ok? Very very very sweet like, I could hardly stomach it. Its the bean filling though, not the rice exterior. I had my friend try it who's had mochi before and even she didn't like it. She said it's not supposed to be sickly sweet. Or have bean chunks in it. If you like super grossly sweet things like drinking ice cone syrup right out of the bottle, then go ahead and get these. And I mean I love sweet stuff usually, I eat American and European candy all the time. Its just this stuff is TOO sweet. Oh also the texture is like a melty marshmallow. Like if you took a marshmallow and squeezed it a bunch or heated it like .1 second in the microwave. Its a bit hard to swallow.

Try different flavors over making this your first
If you're going to try mochi for the first time, I'd recommend the fruit flavored ones before this. This one wasn't bad, but it wasn't one I'd run back to as fast as the fruit mochi. It almost made me not want to try other ones, but I see I just picked my first one wrong ;)

Wrong Product!!!
I ordered this packaging so why did i get something else?? This package has no writing and is pinkish/red and green but the one i received says on the front, "RICE CAKE with BEAN JAM (KOUHAKU MOCHI) 'RED& WHITE', " the color "red" is barely visible as pink and looks strange, without even opening the package I can see some of them are already torn open showing the filling inside. It tastes ok but the filling is lumpy and has hard bits mixed in.
