Good product easy to fit
I was looking to replace an old 500w mains unit which was falling apart after 15 years in the Welsh rain. I decided to look for an LED replacement to do my bit for the planet. The price was reasonable and looked sturdy so I took the plunge. The unit came with enough battery charge to enable me to have a play with the controls indoors at twilight to adjust the timing and ambient light settings. The fitting of the solar panel was easy and my only gripe was that in order to mount the light's fixing bracket, you have to undo the two side nuts and remove the light. Putting the nuts screws back together, at hight, in the cold, and with one pair of hands was a bit tricky as the nut is on the inside and a bit fiddly to hold in place while trying to engage the screw. Eventually, I managed to find a bit of blue tack to hold the nuts in place and got the unit mounted. The PIR was the last thing to adjust and there was no problem adjusting for the required area of pick-up. The beam is surprisingly powerful, easily covering the required area of apx 30 square yards. The light has been working fine for three months and I would recommend it to anyone who has a spare blob of blue tack.

NICE LIGHTS WORTH THE MONEY
I am generally pleased with this product, it was easy to put up screw holes all in sensible place had it up in 15 minutes both light and pannel. The lights are very bright and can be pointed in most directions. My only complaint is that the sensor is not as sensitive as the other lights I bought from power B with the fixed round ball sensors. I thought with a movable sensor I would get the light to activate from a further distance. I find it works from about 4 metres which is OK but not brilliant, I have the lights about 5 ft off the ground so they may activate better form higher up. I still give 4 stars as the lights are really bright you could read by them. The lights are well made and I would recommend them to others. I have only had these a short while so will give a further review on how they perform during the winter months.

Good performance, even in winter,
These are quite powerful enough to light the whole of my backyard (about the size of three large estate cars). They are not as powerful as mains floodlights, but easily bright enough to light your way. They are set to stay on for just a short time, so the solar panel gains more than sufficient charge even in the middle of winter. The lights were generally easy to fit, though I would have liked more flexibility in setting the direction the sensors point in. I also found a couple of the smaller screws to be of poor quality, as the recess in the screw head was poorly formed so it was impossible to get a good purchase on it with any screwdriver I tried. Once that was sorted, fitting was straightforward though, and overall performance is good.

Best Solar Flood Light
I purchased the item to floodlight a dark part of my garden. The coverage is impressive and more than adequate, with a timer that is generous and does not leave you swinging arms around to maintain the light, as is the case with some cheaper versions. If you are unsure which one to buy, spend a little more and don't be dissapointed! I found the light produced was even and wide, very comfortable to see, quite impressive. The solar panel is fairly large, so will capture enough energy to power the rather substantial battery pack within the solar light. The unit has dials for adjustments of motion sensitivity, light time duration and daylight lux (what level of dusk it should start lighting on motion). There is a big red on/off swith on the back, nicely waterproofed under a rubber hood. The only issue with mine were loose wires within the unit. On delivery, it was not working and a quick check of the battery compartment found 2 wires disconnected and one loose. On connecting them all, the unit worked well. I can only assume that quality control could be better. However, the build quality of components is good and I am happy with it.This unit is a direct replacement for a mains powered flood light, if you don't need it on for more than an hour in a night. Note that its really suited for occassional use, not sustained use. So be sure to think how long you may need to have the light on for.Ideal to avoid dangerous high voltage cables in the garden.

Good light.
Bought to light up a dark passage way. Works very well. LEDs may not have as many lumens as a 300w security floodlight, but they produce more than enough light to see by with the added bonus of being very economical - solar powered. Light is bright white cool tone. Twin light heads can be rotated and directed to where you want the light as well as the sensor (PIR sensitive to body movement and also a photocell for the light levels). Can alter the duration the security light stays on, darkness level before it activates and sensitivity (distance to detected movement) of the sensor.Solar panel on a 5m lead allows the light be placed in or near a dark area and the panel in a well lit one so it gets charged up properly. There is no way to shorten this lead without affecting the integrity of the unit, so if you are placing the solar panel near the security light a cable tidy or two might be useful. You might also want to consider cable clips for keeping the cable tidy anyway, depending on how you install it.Installation easy. So long as you can drill holes where you want it and the separate solar panal placed. Note you'll need two different sized drills as the screws and rawlplugs for the sesor (x4) and secutiry light (x2) are different sizes to each other. Importantly remember to switch on the solar panal (there's a seperate switch under it) as it has the battery unit in it or the whole thing won't work :-).

Great light but....
This is the second one of these I've bought as it's ideal for welcoming unexpected visitors at the front gate. However one of the 2 lights is now fogging up inside after the recent rain, so it either needs opened ( don't know if this is possible) and sealing or sent back (an expensive option from Spain) A pity, as I've had 2 supports especially made for them! Help needed please Powerbee!
