Beautiful & simple
It looks so good, bought it just to hear that ticking relaxing background "noise". It feels so good when I come home, tired and get into bed to sleep, it relaxes me. I want to try to see if I fit it in a wooden box, if it could replace a classic Grandfather clock or those wooden mechanical ones that you can put on the wall. The pendulum needs to be adjusted in case it falls behind with the time. Put it 10 mins in the front from the current time and check it after 24hrs and see if the difference in time it's the same or less than 10 mins. If you see it falling behind, rotate the little screw at the end of the pendulum one revolution to the left (like turn it to the left to "unscrew") and that will keep it from falling behind. I found the sweet spot, it falls behind 1 min after 1 week. Just adjust the time when you "recharge" it. Pull the empty chain to lift the weight and that's it, you don't need waste batteries anymore. Mechanical clocks are the best. Pretty expensive, but hey, it's build very good. Worth the money.

Nice ticking sound
Ordered this clock to have a soothing mechanical tic tic sound in the sitting room which wouldn’t be too loud. This clock delivers exactly that, a discreet yet audible ticking sound with a hourly bell strike. It took me a day to regulate the pendulum and now keeps good time. Adds movement to the room and keeps you company. Very nice little clock.

Very hard to see time
Very well made looks great.but you need to be up close to tell the time as the hands blend into the back ground, shame we had to return but not a clear clock face

These are mechanical - they DO take time to get right
The media could not be loaded. Very well packaged in completely recyclable packaging (cardboard; no plastic, other than 2 Ziploc bags (reusable) for pendulum and chain. A single screwslot on the rear to hang by, thus allowing the mechanism to be adjusted to vertical (more on that later). Very well made, with no sharp edges or burrs, with easy final assembly.Timekeeping. getting this right does take time, and relies on several factors. The mechanism MUST BE VERTICAL - use a small spirit level to help you with this. If it isn't, the pendulum does not swing evenly, and this may result in the clock stopping (I know this - from experience!).Second, try to place in a location where there are no draughts - as these will affect the pendulum swing, in addition the varying temperature will also have an effect on timing, due to expansion and contraction of the pendulum rod.Third, ensure that you mount the clock high enough on the wall to allow the full length of travel for the chain/weight - if you don't, you won't get a full 7 days out of 1 'wind'. Mine is on the wall of the stairs, 2.6m above the step (this ensures that the cat can't reach the end of the chain!), wound weekly (make sure the mechanism doesn't move by holding the lower "plate" against the wall with a finger. Finally, adjust the pendulum length slowly - half a turn at time, until you get close, then reduce this to 'small tweaks' - mine now holds its accuracy to less than a minutes' error in a month, but do bear in mind that it's not a quartz-based clock, so don't expect it to maintain time to the second!!The video, of just under 50 seconds, allows you to hear the ticking, and concludes with the hourly chime. Chiming (one bell 'ting') is on the hour, and not intrusive, even overnight. It has been suggested placing a small piece of card between bell and hammer to quieten this; I've not found this necessary.

Great modern pendulum clock
A really smart looking reasonably priced mechanical pendulum clock. Took a week or two too get the clock keeping the time spot on by adjusting the nut on the pendulum after 24 hours or so when you could see how much time it was losing. Once you have got it running at the right speed it keeps time very well within 30 seconds I would say.

Pretty little clock. I particularly like the white face of this one. But ......
Clock arrived with face detached from the workings. Managed to cobble it back together myself as I am able to do basic repairs. Thought it would not be worth hassle and expense of returning and as seems to be no way to contact seller. Would be disappointing to other purchasers if they were not able to do basic repairs. Perhaps seller needs to review packaging and how immobile the clock parts would need to be for safe, damage-free transportation in future to avoid disappointment.

Value for money
Arrived well packaged and undamaged.Looks great and has an unobtrusive tick tock.Has kept good time and strikes on the hour. The chime is a “ting” which doesn’t make you jump.Very pleased with the purchase.
