I bought this to do individual baked goods. Bought heat seal bags on AMAZON. Worked perfect the first time. Works as described. Seals very well.

Made of plastic. But worth the price.
It's made of plastic. It feels cheaply made and that it might break. But it works really well. I like it. I don't use it too often so let's see how well it holds up over time.

it stopped working the first time i used it
Got it on a discount. half off. vevor i should've know. First bag I tried to seal a spark came out of the corner of the machine and it went kaput. reordered a new one sent that one back. i'll see how it goes on this next one. review to be continued

You get what you pay for.
In the pictures it looks like the heavy duty, metal impulse sealer one gets when buying a freeze dryer, but it's not compatible at all.I was hoping this was something like a teaser special - sell a few really cheap, get good reviews then raise the price. Nope! This is a $20 sealer. It works and seals vacuum food storage bags, but only with a narrow strip about 1/8 inch, not the wide seal of a heavy duty impulse sealer.I wanted a backup just in case my workhorse conks out at the most inopportune time and this thing will serve as that. But I think it will probably give out much sooner than my heavy duty sealer will.It's very light and built flimsy. The arm is quite floppy and sloppy and feels like it could easily break off.For occasional sealing this sealer works fine. But I wouldn't recommend it for frequent use as I doubt it will hold up. (Use it while saving up for a "real" impulse sealer. LOL)
