LOVE the look and vibe of this radio.
This is a really cool little radio. I had just been telling my husband that we needed to get a transistor radio in case we ever needed one, and then I came across this. I LOVE the retro wood look. I was surprised by the sound as well. Very loud for as small as it is, and it sounds very nice. It reminds me of my younger days. Can't wait to show it off.

Beautiful must have handheld radio
When I first saw this radio on Amazon I was immediately impressed by its design and the real wood face. When I received the radio and unboxed it I was blown away. The radio is beautiful with a handmade appearance. It feels well made and the cherry wood face looks fantastic. I've never owned ANY handheld radio that looked this cool. When I first turned it on I found that the ENTIRE tuning dial is amber LIGHTED and it looks awesome. The lighting makes it look like an old time tube radio. Also, remarkably for a handheld radio, the tuning dial doesn't feel cheap. It turns VERY smoothly and matches the radio's retro look. The radio sort of looks like a miniature version of my antique floor standing Philco radio from the 1930's. In fact the radio is designed so it can stand up while you are listening to it. I found the radio to be very capable. It tunes in AM/FM stations properly and provides visual feedback via a green tuning light on the face of the radio. There is A LOT of volume built into this radio. It can be cranked very loud if you choose. The tonal quality of the radio is excellent and to my ears has a good amount of bass. Music sounds really good and I have detected no frequency drift or buzzing noise while listening This radio is a very unique little radio and is super value especially considering the $20 price (coupon clipped). I highly recommend it. I would buy it again. UPDATE: I liked the radio so much I bought another for myself. The 2nd radio was received in perfect working order just like the first.

Great Look, Great Sound.....Consider it FM Only
The look is fantastic. The sound for a small portable is great. The volume goes Hi for it's size and is excellent. Reception on FM is very good. On AM, as others have explained, it has a loud background static and humm on all stations. If you consider it FM only, you'll be happy. If you want AM, do not order this one! I'm pleased though. I bought it for looks, nostalgia and as a small emergency radio. A nice decoration in my office. I'm happy with it. RM Tampa

As advertised, nice little player
As advertised, nice little player, priced right, AM radio is a bit weak but then it is priced accordingly.

Looks great but low assembly quality.
This is a great looking radio. The fake wood looks really good. Sound quality was not too bad and reception was good. Unfortunately there was one fatal flaw. I got three samples of this radio and every single unit had a faulty volume control. The thumb wheel for volume was so tight that I could barely rotate the knob to raise or lower volume. I contacted the seller for another issue with this radio via the email address that was packed with the radio and got no response. Thank God Amazon is as good as they are at returns. I sent all three units back.

Blows all other pocket radios out of the water.
I grew up in the golden age of radio. Everyone listened to radio, TV hadn't replaced it. I knew what a good radio was. As a kid I designed and built my own dirt-simple radios -- crystal sets, superregens -- but even those I did exceptionally well. Commercial radio design didn't require 21st century technology, it required taking pride in the radio engineering craft. They made 'em pretty because the outward appearance should be consistent with the performance. Most modern radios other than the $10 pocket Sony knockoffs are loaded with "features" designed by engineers who as far as I can tell grew up on TV and video games and never actually listened to a radio themselves. Ten years ago I paid nearly $200 for a simple table model AM-FM radio designed and made in the USA for people who wanted a good radio and remembered what one was. The guts were modern, no vacuum tubes, but they used the technology right. They even got the acoustical engineering right, the 3 inch speaker had good range and low distortion. Soooo easy to tune, it used a real air dielectric variable capacitor. Unfortunately due to some difficult life circumstances, I had to get rid of it. Several days ago I spotted this on Amazon, and read the reviews including by electrical engineers and old folks who remember what a good radio is. Folks, this thing is a work of art both interior and exterior. Somewhere there's an engineer who remembers how to get it right. THANK YOU!. Even the box it's shipped in is nice. I don't know how they did this for $21 delivered to my front door. ****** Battery life? I'm a stickler for battery life. In my own designs I count every microampere. Haven't had this one long enough to know how long batteries will last. I'm not expecting to get the "almost forever" battery life I get from my $10 all-analog Sony. It's got a 57 mm (2 1/4") speaker. They couldn't have gotten a larger one in there. But..... the enclosure works against it. Most pocket radios there is zero acoustical engineering, they don't know how and don't care anyhow. This one I'm sure they cared, I think they tried to boost the low end by getting just the right amount of acoustical impedance in the vent in the rear. But, with that acoustical volume to work with, you can't get loud AND good fidelity. It's a compromise. ..... This unit is good by comparison with other pocket radios. If you want better fidelity, the headphone jack can probably supply that.

I bought this radio as a present, I wanted a retro look, simple to use and battery operated. It’s for an older person so he can use it easily. It ticks all these boxes. I just had an email from the sellers of this radio as it seems some people have had signal issues so they are contacting all their customers. They were offering a years warranty or 30 day money back guarantee. As this is a present I was about to give I tested it to make sure it’s ok. It seems to tune and pick up signal very well. It’s really cute and the sound for such a small radio is good. I liked the way it lit up and the retro style. I think it’s really good value for money. It’s also reassuring that the sellers made an effort to ensure their customers are happy with the products. I would buy from them again.

Tuning is a dream. Easy, locking onto the station quickly and cleanly. Good quality sound. Seemingly robust. The lighted dial is a nice and useful touch. The on/off switch was too stiff initially but after some weeks use is perfectly acceptable. The volume knob is unacceptably stiff. One needs to hold the wireless in one hand to steady it in order to properly adjust the volume. When standing it sits on a narrow base and is easy to knock over- fortunately it seems pretty robust.

My husband is over the moon with his new radio. He said "I thought I'd hate it but I love it!" Before he saw it, I was teasing him that "the advert says 'feel like you are back in the good old days', so it is *perfect* for you!" The reception is crystal clear and the cherry wood and shape feel nice in the hand as well as to look at. Thank you!!

Nice little radio with wasted potential. The worst part of this radio is its power switch. Already after 3 days of usage the switch intermittently fails. The sound is pleasant considering the radio’s small size. Stations are easy to tune into. The tuning knob gives the radio very pleasant analogue feel although the tuning should be on the side and not on the front—the know protrudes otherwise flat front. The tuning dial is constantly lit—cute gimmick, but this is not always desirable, especially not in darkness, and may be wasting precious energy from the small batteries. The dial has some shadows (shadow theatre?) which shows a poor design.
