Great, Long-lived Filters from Aquagear
In spite of seeming like a high cost, each filter lasts a remarkably long time! I weighed the cost/time of these against many competing brands and found that, if their claims about longevity were true, the cost would actually be much lower with Aquagear than other brands. Having just gone through our first filter that came with the pitcher some 5-months later, I can indeed confirm they'll go forever-and-a-day. They also filter out significantly more contaminants than most competitors without leaving your water completely bare of minerals. Very clean, good tasting water. On top of all that, their recycling program is top-notch! Each filter comes with a bag to put your old filter in and ship it back to them for recycling - just contact the company to get a pre-paid shipping label, and when you send it back they will double their donations and even give you a discount code for your next filter. What a great program!

Great Filter and great taste
Great Filter and great taste. We do have to flush it periodically to make it work when it slows but it does the job and we can use it for 3-4 months. A lot of stuff in our water as well so the water comes out crystal clear and tasting great!

We've done everything to like this product
We've done everything to like this product. First the customer service is really good and would love to give more starts but don't want to misrepresent the actual product. We originally purchased this system a year ago. After only a few weeks the water was no longer filtering. Since you're supposed to get 6 months or several dozen gallons we were shocked. Customer service sent us a free filter right away! The filter still only lasted a few weeks so it wasn't faulty. This was an order for 2 filters and only one arrived. When we reached out to customer service they again were wonderful. Unfortunately the filters for the price just aren't worth it, about 6-7 filters in 12 months and we are switching to a different system. Really wanted this to work but after a year it's time to find something that stands behind the price. I wish we went with the system that was a little more initially because we've wasted time and money with these.

Leaks contaminated water
Currently the least worst option for a pitcher option. Their filtering results are great BUT the pitcher leaks unfiltered water so at least a small amount of what you get is still contaminated. They need to work on the design to ensure there are no leaks! That said, the other options, brits, zero water, epic etc... have less impressive filtering results or don't even filter certain things...

Water tastes fine; filters do not last six months.
These filters do not last six months as advertised. I wrote to the company about this and I was told that they recently have been redesigned to last longer, so fingers crossed. Otherwise, the water tastes fine. It's hard to find a decent pitcher filter that removes fluoride. I am trusting that it does what the manufacturer claims, of course.

Great product, well worth the money!
Aquagear was our 3rd filter company in the last 3 years (we eventually replaced our long-used Brita with a Soma filter, only to be disappointed). After extensive research of what's out there in 2017, we settled on Aquagear and couldn't be happier. The filter is awesome - this is our first replacement, and the first filter lasted 3.5 months of pretty heavy daily use (we refill the pitcher on average 3 times a day). You can see in the description of the product all it filters, and though we haven't personally tested it it performed very well in all independent tests. I wasn't too sure how we would know when to replace it - but as the company says the water filtration slowed down substantially - almost to a trickle, so it was obvious we needed a new one. When we received the new filter, the bag it arrived for could be then used for you to send your used filter back to them for recycling (you can email them and they email you back a prepaid shipping label. We didn't have any issues flushing the filters we've received (necessary step before you put it in the pitcher) - the trick seems to be to not have too much water flow, all you need is a very small/weak stream. Oh, and the water tastes great!

Great product
I purchased this product in March and would recommend it to anyone who wants a quality water filtration system. In past years, I have used two different brands; both were OK, but the Aquagear brand far surpasses them. Firstly, the taste of the filtered water is great. Secondly, there is ease of use with filling the pitcher as well as picking up and pouring from it. Lastly, the company accepts filter returns for recycle with all necessary instructions on the bag included with the filter. Response to the email request for return label is prompt. No need to search for another water filtration system once you use Aquagear.

slow filtering, but worth it for this type of filter
I bought this originally to filter out fluoride, but living in Detroit, we also have to deal with lead and copper in our water. Apparently, this filter also takes some lead out. Water definitely tastes better than water from lesser filter systems like Britta, but takes longer to filter. I live with one other person and a dog and have decided that the speed of filtration mandates that we get another, so now we will have 2. Trying to avoid Amazon whenever possible, I went directly to the manufacture's site, they sell at the same price and it's all free shipping, and you can get a 20% filter discount if you get on the plan that automatically sends a new filter every 6 months. Since the filters aren't cheap, it's a better deal. I did read other reviews before buying my first one that it can be slower to filter, but I also wonder if the recommended life of each filter (6 months) is shorter, the more crap one has in their water. Since my tap water is so polluted, maybe that has something to do with the lagging speed of filtration.

Happy with product

The filters work well and assuming they due filter all the contaminants listed (including Fluoride) I would consider this a win.
